So since I have to practice my German I started reading this HUGE book by B. Hennen, called "The Elves". And after years of being let down by nonsense, repetitive and badly written fantasy books, I finally found something which could really give me that "I want to read the whole saga although is around 10 thousand pages long" feeling again.

Does anyone of you know this author already? If not, I can definitely advise him...at least it's worth a try :)

:D it's really nice...there are still a lot of Tolkien's traces here and there, but I really like the use the author makes of some patterns drawn from myths and legends, as well as the charachters and the relationship between them. I think it's very well written.

I googled the German titles as I used to go through books (mostly German fantasy) like crazy when I was younger. Some of the titles seem familiar but I don't remember any of the plot

Maybe I have to reread it. But my to read list is already really long ^^
