aka "It's Not My Fault I'm Not Popular"
it's about a teenage loner night-owl girl who decides she's going to try to become more popular.
And it. is. great.

aka, Cringe, the show
Seriously, your description makes her seem so much more normal than she is. I read the manga, and it makes me feel so fucking bad for her. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the anime, but oh my god, I know I need to.
Also, even the rule 34 made about her makes me sad. The one where she imagines what it'd be like to have an American boyfriend?
CRINGE!!!!

I think the whole idea about WataMote is that you do feel bad for her. Sure, it opens with some comedy, but you get attached to Kuroki and you see just how bad she's really feeling, and all the comedy is in fact just to veil the fact she hates herself entirely.

It is pretty good but the problem is her position doesn't change at the end at all.
Was expecting something to change
Though it is funny

Each anime fits a genre or a target audience or whatnot. This one is everyone's love of wish fulfillment fantasies experienced vicariously.

That's the whole point of it, imo.

I really enjoyed the manga, and I was excited when I heard there was an anime coming out. I wasn't a huge fan of it, though.
I suffer really bad from second hand embarrassment, I really feel embarrassed for others when they do awful things and for some reason while I could stand it in the manga, I couldn't bear watching the anime. I think the manga presents itself in more of a comedic way as well.
It's good story, yeah. Some of it reminded me of myself and the awkward things I did as a teen.

OMG this. I had to pause the anime a few times because hearing her voice instead of reading amplified the cringe factor so much more.
Did you guys see the cute little nendoroid that came out of her?: http://myfigurecolle...net/item/166617
