Just looked at the wikipedia page to figure out what it is.
They sound really shady, like they are specifically designed for paying for drugs, weapons, and human organs.

Do....do you have the shining?
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Now then, does anyone want to invest in my Golcoins? The fact that Golcoins exist and that I predicted a recent crash in Bitcoins is simply coincidental.

Well, I mean...Mt. Gox is bankrupt...Bitcoins are still okay. Worth a couple hundred bucks apiece, actually (which is up, like, 2500% from where they were this time last year).

Still crashed, market trends are showing a systematic decrement in their value. I mean hell back in 2008 the Chinese economy fell from 10.8% growth in GDP to 7.5%~ GDP. That might seem like nothing considering they were still growing as an economic powerhouse, but the crash was big enough that it destroyed the British building market and brought about international economic turmoil.

Oh yeah, there was definitely a huge initial crash. Things seem to have evened out for now, with prices hanging at around $650-700 per BTC. Bitcoin wants to be a currency, and may still be some day, but it's way too volatile right now to be considered anything but a speculative investment.
That said, calling it "bankrupt" is silly. There's still billions of dollars in the system, readily accessible to those who hold the money.

I don't think it'll ever make it as a true currency now. China has banned it, Singapore has banned it, Japan has made it illegal for banks to trade it as a currency and tax it only as a 'good'. MtGox is fucked which is majorly affiliated with the currency and there was a smaller independent which lost, I think, something in the region of $150 mil through a similar loop hole. The currency isn't bankrupt in the sense that a currency can't go bankrupt but it is absolutely on its knees. Consumer confidence is the only thing keeping the bubble going and I dunno, I'm not economic theorist but I give it another couple years before interest fades. Unless you're buying contraband, alcohol or smokes that is.
They looooove Bitcoin on Tor.
