"Oh no, we're trapped inside an MMO!"

But this is good. The anime has a much deeper focus on the actual game aspects compared to Sword Art Online, and the story is pretty neat. It's also not weighed down by the whole "death game" plot point, which leads to some amusing dialogue in the first episode.

man sorry but compared to SAO, I dislike log horizon. It's a bit boring, the first few were interesting but then  it's bad especially the respawning part

off topic, was .hack good? I always thought the idea of meta MMO in a RPG was an interesting one, but never got around to trying it.

An old RPG series that took place in a fake MMORPG, so basically the game was inside a meta game

does it have anything to do with hacking?

Since I would really like that kind of thing for obvious reasons

Not really. In the game you had the ability to hack the enemy and turn them back to level one or something like that. Honestly, it's been so long I don't remember too much. There were 4 games and you'd transfer your character from the last to the new, I never got past game two. The story was boring.

The anime, from what I rememeber, had nothing to do with the game. The MC was a minor character from the game. One girl was obsessed with rare items. I didn't finish it either.

The only good .hack anime is ,hack//Quantum but it's only 3 episodes long and doesn't use much of its potential, so only that. But the PS2 .hack games are really worth it (.hack//G.U trilogy).

I'll have to figure out how to check them out. The series always seemed interesting to me, but I was a Nintendo kid.

I went back to Log Horizon at last. It got put on the back burner between Fairy Tail, Canaan and Gundam SEED HD Remaster. But yeah. I started from the beginning to remind myself of the story and whatnot, and I am now up to episode 20. Spoilers ahead.
