I don't like it. I do not like it at all. NOTHING DOES WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO. Internet Explorer is weird as fuck on the tile thing, why is the tile thing the start menu and WHY IS THE REMOVABLE DEVICE NOTIFICATION IN THE TOP RIGHT

I never, EVER want Windows 8

Wow, I did exactly the same thing today for my mum!

Isn't W8 just the biggest pile of wank ever?

Im currently restoring a computer with Win 8, Mum wants the HD because it belonged to a close friend of hers that passed away. New HD will have Win7 for sure... or maybe even XP :-D

Ascertained that the power supply is blown, might have caused a static charge across the motherboard or even CPU but heres hoping those aren't fried. He had a really strange setup though, his GFX card is brandless and has a SCART connection, Ive never even seen a GFX card that only outputs that. Its a decent machine but some of it is strange... Why is there 3486 mb of RAM, what a weird amount 2048 + 1024 + 256 + 128... All he needs is a 512 and he would have a royal flush. Ahh well, ill be able to work out more when I find a friggen TV with a SCART connection which seems a lot harder to find today then it should (wanting to buy in a store, not over the internet).

Also need to find my multimeter, I know its around here somewhere...

I found out that they use systems from 2003 on some of the computers at work. Was so awesome to see that old old old UI.

I'm hoping I can skip 8 at work pretty easily. It's got some nice features, but overall I find the usability on a power level very poorly done.

"old old old" for 2003?  Heh,  and here I was thinking 3.11 was 'old old old'

Netscaaaaaaape! We did tabs before it was cool!

Or, more accurately, before IE figured out how.

Dad's got a laptop with 8. I was like, "What the hell were you thinking?"

He was like, "It's not so bad..."

I was like, "Yes it is."

He was like, "Yeah, I know."

My parents, for being 50's, kinda know what they're talking about. Mom has a Twat account   (I don't even use Twitter) and a PS Vita, Dad's all about the Wii and his PSP; there are FOUR computers in the living room (one PC, two laptops [one for each of them], and a laptop hooked up to the TV for YouTubing). Growing up, our house bought two PS2s because they fought over it. Mom would want to play Ratchet and Clank while he was hogging it playing FFVIII or whatever.

I remember being very small and constantly asking Dad for help on Mario. I didn't bother with Zelda until I was like, eight, 'cause holy crap, that game is hard.
