Okay, so I'm a musical fanatic, as you'll learn soon enough. I'm curious to know what everyone is into, currently? My tastes are rather complex and vast, but at the moment, I'm really enjoying the latest Iron & Wine record, 'Ghost on Ghost.' It's of course no 'Shepherd's Dog,' but there are a few great ideas on the LP, including the infectious 'Low Light Buddy of Mine.'

Studio Killers have an intriguing debut out this year, self-titled. Be sure to check out the fun and vivacious 'Ode to the Bouncer.' Notice the Pink Floyd references in one of the bridges.

I'm also enjoying the odd and eccentric Mojo Juju. Her self-titled solo debut released in 2012 is a great throwback for a modern day blues record. Highlights include her fantastic 'I Put a Spell on You' and the great 'Full Moon on Budapest.'

I can offer plenty more suggestions if anyone wants a specific genre or style, either new or old. Looking forward to reading what others enjoy.

I've been jamming to the new Kid Cudi album, indicud. Most of the album is pretty good but he strayed away from his older down to earth style and it leaves me a little disappointed. I've been digging on Trinidad James lately as well but I'd say he has more a novelty feel than a serious feel.

I agree; Kid Cudi's recent album did little for me. Now, Wale's newest record, The Gifted, is pretty decent, particularly songs such as 'LoveHate Thing' featuring Sam Dew, and of course his Rihanna duet, 'Bad,' for which we were already familiar with in a sense.

I haven't heard too much off of his new album, heard one of them on Pandora and liked it. I'll have to check out the rest when I get home.

I love you.

I have different likes and it all depends on my mood. I too like Studio Killers, they're pretty amazing. I'm a fan of many things, many styles, many genres.

I'll start with this:

Was looking for a music related thread. My favourite band is most certainly elbow. I fell in love after the first song I heard. I would recommend anyone to listen to them. Plus Guy Garvey has got those rugged good looks. Phwoarrr.

I listen to "Audience With The Pope" every other day. It's about the only one I actually ever hear. Should probably listen to their other songs sometime.

Every song you listen to keeps chart popstars off the radio for a month. Do your bit. Listen today and make a change.

Joywave is great. Their experimental fusion of genres is quite seamless at times. I'm a big fan of their tune 'Golden State.' Other great experimental acts include Caribou (check out his 2010 album, Swim - particularly the songs 'Jamelia' and 'Kaili.' If you're looking for a beautifully strange straddle between spoken word and singing, listen to Listener's song 'Wooden Heart.' In fact, the entire album is great. Lost Animal has a new record, 'Ex Tropical.' His song 'Say No to Thugs' is worth a listen. I'm also a really big fan of The Knife, who also has a new one out, entitled 'Shaking the Habitual.' Most of these mentioned are fused experimentations as well, but center mostly on electronica. If anyone wants suggestions to older music or different styles, just mention it.

By the way, Elbow is great. Their song Switching Off remains my favorite.

Lately I've been getting into instrumental and soundtrack music to study with. Songs from movies, anime, or tv shows that stick have been ending up on my mp3 player. I'm constantly on Radio Rivendell, which is a fantasy music radio station. Usually they have good stuff, the rare flop does come on though. Specifically, I guess I've been drawing back to the songs I've played a lot on osu, I've been listening to a lot of touhou lately, especially Flandre's theme.

Recently I've been listening to the soundtracks for whatever game I happen to be speedrunning. So I guess an odd combination of GTA: Vice City, Paper Mario, the N64 Zelda games, Pokemon, and now Final Fantasy V.

tbh, Final Fantasy has been my favorite thus far >w>

Final Fantasy music has always been amazing, at least the older games.

The newer ones feel like they are trying too hard to be like/sound like a Final Fantasy game.

My overall musical taste is fairly narrow by most standards.

There is a very thin margin of music that I can actually enjoy.

I am not one of those elitist types that thinks the music I like is the only good music, I just cannot get my ears around a lot of music.

Especially newer stuff.

It isn't like I don't dabble in all types of music to see what I like, my brain just won't have any of it.

Musicals tend to be my least enjoyed form of music.

I think it is because of how unnatural it always seems for everyone to be singing their conversations/monologues, that just isn't what people do.

Not to knock anyone's taste though, your think is your thing of course.

I have very eclectic tastes in music, I enjoy everything from Metal to Classical. I have been listening to the cranberries a lot recently as well as many anime soundtracks.

I'm sort of...Esoteric I call it. I like what I like, rarely can I share it. Technically I span the genres but I like so little from each that I can't really call myself eclectic.

I like All That Remains, Disturbed, and Device. Angry, dark, most of all powerful.
Two Steps from Hell, John Williams, Jeremy Soule bring Emotive orchestral works.

Satriani, Paragonx9, Blue Stahli, these solo artists bring a lot of feeling.

AC/DC, Anarchy Club, Blind Guardian,Ringo Starr, Maroon 5, a smattering of pop everywhere from here to the early 70s. That is just catchy stuff in my head.

I like unique stuff, and I tend to gravitate towards A. Emotionally Charged music that doesn't only rely on words or B. Music that is awesome, where awesome is defined as groovy, loud, primal and/or epic. These songs aren't really eliciting emotion so much as just making me feel generally good.

Can provide songs if any of the bands inspire interest.

I agree with the new stuff. Most of the stuff on the radio is like partyfundance music, which is good if you're at a dance, but I wouldn't really listen to it otherwise. I rarely listen to the radio, I've no clue what's popular in music anymore. I half wish I was because there are some good ones that come out of it. I think Imagine Dragons is pretty good.

Yeah I recently downloaded Eric Hutchinson's album Sounds Like This.

I don't usually listen to this sort of music, but damn I enjoyed it very much.

But as of late I've been cranking music composed by Grant Kirkhope. He did all the music for Banjo Kazooie, and there's a few other good music from games I've never heard of....

Check it out, you can download it all for FREE!!! -http://grantkirkhope...m/banjo-kazooie

Right now I've been listening to a lot of Brian Eno and rap/hip-hop in general. I've played Gangster's Paradise like, 20 times in three days.
