I recently went to the new premiere of Star Wars in 3D for The Phantom Menace. I thought it was great, but do you think they should be redoing it? Or leave them alone?

if there's one thing george lucas knows best, it's remasters.
the canon of that universe alone can fill a library, but he sticks to remaking them.
can't say much, though. it's made him a boatload of cash and he has the premiere cgi studio and some of the best sound techs in the business.

I'm so glad they're being redone, 'cause it's an excuse to get them back in the cinemas so I can see them on the 'big screen'. Well excluding the original trilogy I did go see them all at the cinema, but it's awesome to do it again. And I love how little bits that had been taken out of the first versions were put back in.

I'm all for them being redone, but adding things in, i'm not a huge fan of. I'd prefer all the original content just more crisp, better sound and maybe even 3D

I'm one of those geek purists. <_<
I've been a Star Wars fanatic since before the Special Edition.

So yeah, in my experience, every new Star Wars thing has detracted from my enjoyment. So I'm less-than-keen on the 3D's.

I actually burned the three original originals onto DVD's for my sister because she recently had a daughter. My niece is going to know that Han shot first.
I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

I'm not really into the whole 3D thing at all. I think it's become overrated and overdone. However, an excuse to see it in theaters again, it was :)

I've read multiple times that Lucas refuses to make more films simply because so many people complained about the prequels. Actually a lot of interesting Star Wars facts on the film and on Lucas at the website Cracked.com. If they do make more films though I would love to see some Legacy of the Force.

I also do agree with several others here that the remakes should just be crisping up the image not changing the story and that 3D is overrated.

Hmm I actually didn't see the 3D whenever it came out only because I felt and probably knew the reason behind it was for money matters as is everything. Lucas has such a great brand with Star Wars I thought it was kind of stretching it by bringing in the big screen when he just released the blu ray collection. However I wish I did go see the 3D even though I have seen it theaters. I just thought is this really worth seeing when I can watch it on my blu ray 3D tv and save me ten bucks plus costs of snacks I must indulge in.

I think Lucas will milk the Star Wars franchise for every penny he possibly can.

Yes unfortunatley so.I do think Star Wars is a great franchise personally for the fact that it has become multi generational. I work in a childrens clothing store, I love when kids come into the store to buy the Star Wars clothes and totally geeking over their favorite characters and how much they love the movies and shows.I love that the name of Star Wars is ingrained in our culture, whether a person has seen the movies or not they know what Star Wars is. Lucas is a genius for being able to keep the name and story alive alongside help of authors who have written the thousands of books floating out there about Star Wars that further expands this realm of lightsabers outside of the movie line.

That's pretty awesome.

I never did read any of the books, but I know they contained a lot of detail.

Oh yeah there's so many Star Wars books out there. I have the Lost Time of the Sith collection on my Kindle. I didn't get to finish the series because I started reading another book but they're pretty good books.
