And I'm itching for a new processor. >.>
Considering just buiying a 2500k. I really think that's plenty of power anyways.

Thoughts?

i gave it a little thought. and honestly, i'd say go with the 2500k. i'm personally not a fan of being an early adopter. let them put more work on the architecture of the ivys before switching. plus, i somehow don't see you waiting till april if they keep on track >.>

Yeah, most of the boards should be able to handle ivy with a bios flash anyways, if I do decide to upgrade.

I had planned to. But I don't want to wait any longer than that. >.>

Yeah, I had to reinstall windows. Apparently, since the only original piece was the hard drive, it didn't want to work. >.>

I'm installing all my games now. I'm about to tinker with overclocking and I'll post some furmark framerates

haha, yes, yes it is. Luckily I had WoW on a second hard drive. That would have been a pain.

Also, 920/1150 clocks and I get 52fps on furmark.

I need some better case fans though, not really enough air movement going on for these. On the up side, my 2500k runs almost 20*c cooler than my c2q.

yes, yes it would.

hell, redownloading any of my games would be a pain >.>

awesome.

fans are for sissies. make a mineral oil submersed case, i hear they're all the rage.
hilariously, those still need fans >.>

I was actually thinking on going with a watercooling setup. At least for the CPU. waterblocks for 6850's are like $140 each. >.>

Battlefield 3 and Skyrim are huge.

good luck if you do. and christ >.o

battlefield three, i have no idea. skyrim is surprisingly smaller than one would expect from a game like that >.> less than nine gigs before you add in patches/dlc/mods.

dude, that's twice the cost of my video card on cooling, so i imagine.

wow. i knew it had to be large. matt's 360 copy came with a second disc just to add higher res textures to his hdd. hey, maybe now you can go balls to the wall on your settings and get into a 64 player match?

i bet.
i've pretty much maxed mine out for my card, i think. after i play long enough, i run out of vram >___> simple fix is just restart the game, but still hilarious to see when it happens. and flippy showed me damn near every mod i have equipped, too <__<

I could run ultra on a 64 player map and still get 30fps on one very OCed one, with just a handfull of spikes. Two should be more than enough, and maybe some fraps recording. >.>

 awesome. I'll have 2gb of vram, GDDR5 too, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll be looking for all the .ini tweaks too that are available on an ati card.

I've got a pretty big case, so it shouldn't be a problem.
