I recommend upgrading to Windows 7.

I recommend upgrading to Windows 7.

Windows 8 has some performance gains over Win 7 in a lot of bench marks. If you don't mind the UI it's a good choice.

Overall it's a pretty solid build. Did you just go with phenom II over vishera for the price?

Computers should not feel like a tablet.

I don't hate the Windows 8 UI but it doesn't belong on a computer.

If you take a step back and think about how the average person uses a computer it makes sense. They're typically going to facebook/general internet browsing, maybe a little bit of office and maybe a few games.

I'm pretty sure people had the same argument when we went from dos based boxes to an actual graphical user interface.

Is it for me? Not yet, anyway. If a family member/friend asked if they should get win7 or win8 would I tell them win8? Nah. Could there be some happy ground between power users and everyday less intelligent users? Yeah, definitely.
