My favorite fantasy movie would probably be lord of the rings return of the king. It was a great conclusion to the series and I was glad to see Gandalf tear crap up.

I totally agree! The LotR movies are defiantly my favs, especially with Gandalf being a bad-ass. The Hobbit only just came out here and its bordering on a close second... if it wasn't for the fact they felt the need to divide it into three parts XD

The LOTR series is probably hands down my favorite. I enjoy a couple others like Star Wars and Star Trek but LOTR takes the cake.... a very middle-earth cake I might add!

Definitely Lord of the Rings, I've grown up with those movies! And they never get old haha. It's fantastic to see the legacey sort of live on now with The Hobbit movies, too. I also will always love the Harry Potter movies :)

Pan's Labyrinth. I remember watching it at 13, and being mesmerized by all the awesomeness (and fucking brutality) that was happening.

Y'know...

...Willow. Willow is my favorite fantasy movie.
I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

No matter what I pick, it will be a classic, and overpicked, and non-unique.

So I'm gonna come out of left field with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

the fighting scenes are orgasmic, and watching it in blu-ray high definition is just...

~w~ yis...

Damn you wolf and Jazz for throwing my answer into doubt, I was gonna agree with everyone and say the LoTR trilogy but now I dunno.

I'm incapable of selecting just one, but here are a few (in no particular order):

Labyrinth
Legend
The Goonies
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The Neverending Story
Troll
The Princess Bride

While I love LotR as books, I wasn't terribly fond of the movies. The Hobbit, on the other hand, I loved.

Lol. I lost it when Jazz said Willow. That was one of the silliest movies I've ever seen.

I never really thought of Princess Bride as fantasy. The movie focuses more on the characters and lets the magic and monsters just be the backdrop for the story. That being said, it’s one of my favorites.
The original Alice in Wonderland, not the Burton one from a few years ago
Wizards
The early 1900 version of The Tempest, although the one they made back in 2010 was good too.
The Dark Crystal
Princess Mononoke
Little Nemo
...Okay, so most of mine are cartoons.
I’m with Quill on the LotR movies. I loved he books, the films fell a little short for me. They were great on their own, but not compared to the books. And as for the Hobbit? You’re not gonna be able to top the one from the 70’s, with the singing and the wolves and all that.

It's silly in some ways, yeah.
I thought it had a pretty good sense of humor about itself.

Plus it has the most hilariously unlikely yet charmingly believable romance sideplot ever.

"'I love you Sorsha?' I don't love her, she kicked me in the face!"
