Laptop ideas

If not, I'll probably get one for myself after the first of the year.
Ram isn't an issue, as I don't mind installing it myself, if it'll be cheaper.
I'd prefer to get something like the A10 in it. If a similar intel+graphics setup can be had for less, that's fine too.
After some research, I've found that I can get a Lenovo Thinkpad with an A10 for $550, just from their site. I'm not terribly fond of the red nub mouse and the red lines on the mouse buttons though. (ThinkPad Edge E535 for reference)
Suggestions?

the problem with Vaios, is that like anything sony, they are much more expencive than the equivalent of another brand.

I've never seen a Satellite that didn't suck balls in quality. If I was going to get an A6, there's a rather nice Samsung one for the same price I've been eyeing.I just got a Toshiba Sattelite 8775D, it's only an A6 4400, but with 6GB of RAM and a 750GB HDD for $429, it's a nice fucking deal.

I gave up on purchasing laptops over the years. It always seemed like a lose-lose situation. Most become outdated within 2 years and are not as easily upgraded as a desktop. Plus they are so expensive, if you want one that has any kind of processing power.

I think you got your brands backwards there.

LOOKS LIKE I READ THE TOPIC PRETTY WELL, HUH?
The entire internet will tell you that the Thinkpad T-series is god-tier.
I will agree.
Also, shame on you for not loving the clit-mouse.

Just personal experience. Over the last few years I've collectively returned 7 toshiba laptops. The samsung one is handling pretty well through an old guy notorious for breaking electronics. The build quality, though not the best materials, is easily above average.Samsung? Quality?

8GB RAM, Core i7, 500GB HD ~ $700-$900
My corporate office purchased them for web developers... Mine has a nice full sized backlit keyboard. of course if your looking for something more portable without sacrificing power, the price goes up.

Opposite for me. I've never had a problem with anything from Toshiba, but my samsung laptop, all 3 phones and a TV have all gone to shit for seemingly no reason.Just personal experience. Weird. I had a samsung phone as well that was damn near indestructible, and I can't count how many times my mom dropped her Galaxy S without it breaking.Opposite for me. I've never had a problem with anything from Toshiba, but my samsung laptop, all 3 phones and a TV have all gone to shit for seemingly no reason.
Looking for some graphical power. The NVS 4200m doesn't deliver compared to an A10http://www.dell.com/...titude-e6420/pd

but...... touchscreen, convertible. I want it for travel etc. , and use my m type for gaming. I wouldnt reccomend it for gaming AT ALL (intel graphics 3000)
I really love samsung phones, but I would stray away from their laptops. Vaios are known for breaking, and series 9 is even more overpriced than macbook air
I can honestly say that I have my toshiba sattelite. Its a few years old (2010) but it even has trouble running the nerd forum snow flakes.
