He asked me my opinion on his setup, but my information is outdated, and I don't know about the performance of these parts.
Anybody wanna come to my aid?

I also can't find the m/board, care to toss a link? The one I've found only has USB 2.0.

And modular power supplies are really nice, like emo said.
Do any am3+ boards support usb3 without 3rd party stuff?Go modular on the power supply - it's worth the price.

Personally, I try to use Asus boards for my own products when possible, and I have a coworker who swears by Sabertooth boards for his setups. He's had a bulldozer chip since launch, and has used multiple others on them as well.

Even if you're only starting with 2 sticks of RAM I would always recommend having 4 slots, for example.

Naw, you're right. Turns out 10ks max out at 157MB/s.Hrm..I didn't realize that. I thought all mechanical drives came in quite a bit lower than that.
