We are going to start carrying some tcg's at my shop. Which ones should we bother getting(there are about 50 more than i recall from when i used to play them >.>)

We are also going to be getting some hard to find classic board games like catan.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

YGO, MTG and possibly Pokemon would be the big ones.

MTG i am definately getting. i was just curious if any of the ones iv never heard of before were any good. And i wanted to see if there is still interest for the pokemon and yugioh ones since it has been years since i played so i wasnt sure if they were popular anymore.

And its confusing trying to order them because there are so many others iv never heard of that i dont wanna pass on if they are popular >.>
The sales rep i spoke with claims one called cardfight vanguard is popular. i have never heard of it and am worried the guy is just trying to offload some product hes never going to legitimately sell out of >.>. I am doing my research before buying any of them.

Cardfight!! Vanguard is pretty new, at least in the US. It released in 2011 in Japan, I think? Something like that. It's based on an anime and was created in a joint effort by the creators of Duel Masters and Yu-Gi-Oh! R.

still on the fence about wow cards. on one hand it could very well be worth it. on the other i dunno if it will really sell a lot quickly.

also does anyone happen to know a good price guide i can subscribe to? prefer to have a solid copy to read off of, but it would have to be updated often.

I imagine you don't have to be that lucky, just not terribly unlucky.

The guy who ran our local hobby shop used Scrye

yeah i have called up several of them so far and found out they were discontinued. apparently the internet kicks the books ass on current prices too well.

Am I to understand that you own your own shop of some sort?
Or at least work at one?
Either way, what type of shop exactly?

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I sell self defense gear and martial arts equipment(speaking of, i really hope this chick comes back who was talking about ordering kung fu fighting fans. i really wanna see those). Basically i run a weapons shop. Many of my better customers play magic, and i also have a lot of kids come in wanting to buy stuff (obviously there is not much i sell they can purchase). So it seemed a logical expansion.
