If you don't know, this is the Part 3 of Chris Nolan's Bat-films. The main villains in this movie are Bane and Catwoman, though it is suspect that Catwoman is an anti-heroine in the film. It takes place 8 years after The Dark Knight. I cannot wait for this film.

Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy are among the cast.

Enjoy and discuss!

I have the complete set of Knightfall set that the movie is based on. As for the movie, I might watch it if it when it comes on TV, as I don't really like batman, nor DC in general. The first movie sucked, and the last one was good because of Heath Ledger, and I'm not going to lie, his death had a huge part in the success of the movie.

I enjoy DC. but dc has nothing on marvel. I think a big part of it is that the DC heroes tend to be infallible and against killing.

Batman for instance bugs the shit out of me with that. I'm willing to become anything and do anything it takes to save this city.........except kill someone.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Isn't that the whole point though? If you kill someone, you're just as bad as they are, in all sense. At least that's my stance on it.

Um, why couldn't you just call the police and let them deal with it? Certainly you can subdue a person without killing them.

it is neither practical nor wise to attempt to subdue a person who is a significant threat. Particularly if there is a high likelyhood of them being able to repeat their actions. (super villains never stay in jail long)
And subduing a person raises your chances of getting injured or killed. Killing them is safer for you and safer for everyone as it removes the chance for repeat offenses.

Safer to remove them from the picture permanently. If your so set on not killing then you could break their knees and elbows i suppose, certianly sets them back a bit. Though i have a feeling your going to say thats inhumane or unmerciful. Killing them would be more merciful than breaking them to the point they arent a threat anymore.

I wouldn't say it's inhumane at all. It's called strategy. Also, broken elbows, knees, etc. heal. And really, there's no such thing as a "super" villain in reality. But I understand your point. I just don't think killing is right in any sense.

Joints never fully recover from a hard break. They would be permanently damaged and weaker than they once were.

And since when were we specifically talking about reality? This was a discussion of batman and his backasswords morality wasnt it?

Certainly killing shouldnt be your first answer to a threat, but it shouldn't be something you cross off because of moral hangups. Killing is necessary at times.

Let me put it another way then. (Man) speaks out at trial against (hardened criminal). (Hardened criminal) is sent to jail to await execution. (Hardened criminal) is released from prison 5 years later due to death sentence no longer being applicable in the state and budget cuts mixed with overflowing prisons mean the state has to cut a lot of sentences short. (Man) and his family are found tortured and murdered 2 months later.

These things actually happen, (Man) and his family would still have been alive if (hardened criminal) had been dealt with properly. There may not be super villains in reality, but there are people who should simply be killed rather than locked away to fester.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Yeah and I'm sick of this topic already. It has become boring. If you don't like Batman though, you don't have to say anything in this thread. Just letting you know.

i do like batman. i just dont like his mixed up morality. he claims he will do anything and become anything. but he will not kill, for any reason.

It's about doing the right thing, not about killing people just because they are bad.

The neat thing about Batman is that he's human, unlike most superheroes. I mostly prefer non-human characters but I can appreciate Batman's status as human and his ability to kick ass without the aid of some supernatural advantage.
This movie looks amazing, the actors are all awesome; I would be very sad if this turns out to be a mediocre movie.
