As you might notice with my signature I am an Amiga fan, the Commodore Amiga 500 was my first real computer (not counting a crappy plastic Atari VCS 2600) and I loved that thing to bits, literally... I went through three of these in a timespan of ten years (the first ones diskdrive was broken and I was too much of a kid to be able to repair it, the other one made room for an upgraded Amiga with 2 megs ram, TWO MEGABYTES!!! JESUS! ).
While modern PCs are really cool things and I would not swap my PC for anything at this point, my heart still belongs a bit to these old machines with their mechanical goodness, i literally could recognize games from the noise the floppy made when loading.
So any thoughts on these old machines?

I currently have a Commodore PET sitting in my shop. I have no tapes for it, and I'm not sure if the tape drive even works, but it's pretty epic to have.

I saw a PET demo a few days ago on Youtube, pretty interesting:

Trippy.
I've never been able to make mine do anything remotely interesting, it's mostly there for bragging rights. If it wasn't so old, I might gut it and try and fit new parts in the old case.

I don't have a real relation to these machines, for me the interesting homecomputer period started with the C64 and was passed on to the Amiga lol.

I'd just feel bad about destroying something like that.
Now if it was an old Dell or HP, it'd be in little pieces. >.>
