Heyooo,

Perhaps not something conventionally associated with being a nerd, but does anyone else here workout or do sport? Personally it's something I really enjoy, I used to play rugby for about 10 years but I eventually quit when I realised I'm not that great, yeh, it took me a loooong time to realise. I used to play football (not NFL yanks ;D) every day for about a year when I was in secondary school. Now I go walking or jogging, I lift weights and do sit-ups, press-ups and elevated planking.

It's always good to hear from other people though, so you can mix and match your routine and confer with other people.

So anyone else do anything? Or have good work-out music? Etcetera...

~Peace

I used to play quite a bit of paintball. Now it's just the occasional jog with my dog.

This is probably a really stereotypical sounding question, but have you ever played American Football? I've only ever played maybe three times, minu the pads and all, but it was so fun! =D

I watched your last Super-Bowl too, stayed up all night for it with a friend from Iowa. Apparently she only watched for the adverts though. >.>

Just a handful of friends out in a field. I think it's closer to rugby at that point.

It's a pretty fun game though, and not too bad to watch on the more exciting games.

Mhmm, I love playing, not as fun to watch in my opinion, but then, no sport is.

Yeah, most sports are actually pretty boring to watch.

I take exception to rugby sevens, it doesn't last long enough to get boring and most games there are at least five tries, hell, the Fijians can rack up 100 odd points sometimes.

I used to. Was in my secondary school's football team (striker), netball team (GA), basketball, and track. Now I don't really do much that's classed as exercise, except for my job.

Honestly, my entire rugby knowledge comes from reading badass of the week, so I have no idea what any of that means.

XD fair nuff, basically, it's a game of 7-a-side rugby, only goes on for like, 10 minutes a half. Each try, when you touch the ball down, is 5 points, so as you can imagine, getting 100 points in 20 minutes is hard work. =P

I play tennis, workout regularly at a gym, swim, and i try to go running at least 2 or 3 times a week. I used to do karate which was a good workout and a lot of fun. And sparring was great stress relief. I might look at getting back into that.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

It's horrible trying to work out in this heat wave though, lifting weights is tougher and I can't go jogging until about 9-10 PM, still, I wouldn't trade the sun for muscle! =D

I've been for the past two months.

I don't have my strength up yet, so what I do is work on one portion of my body for one song duration.

Then I switch parts during another song and on and on.

I usually work on my arms, stomach, butt, and legs for around 15-20 minutes a piece a work out like this.

It works a lot better for me because I'm still getting a workout in these areas and working up a sweat, but I'm not hurting myself or putting too much stress on my muscles all at once.

As far as music, it's whatever kind you like.

I like rock with a solid beat when I work out.

It's about 27 degrees right now (80 something F), it's been about that the last three or four days but it was about 60%+ humidity as well earlier in the week. >_<

In response to your music choice, Flippy, I have to agree, with the addition that rap also gets me working up a sweat quite well, having the right pace is vital.
