When you play video games, do you prefer playing as a man or a girl? I normally play as a girl because it feels weird looking at a dude the whole game.

It depends but I totally understand your logic. Not to sound like a perv or anything but I too would much rather look at a girl and all her curves lol

Now when it comes to something like a pkmn game, I wouldn't mind playing as a boy. I guess maybe b/c the overhead view.

I prefer female characters myself. It really depends. Take WoW for example, I have 3 male toons, and like 6 female. Sex was picked based on attack motions and how gear looks on them.

On Skyrim I play females only because the males look god-awful unless you're playing Nord.

Because I'm not gay.

Depends on who's cooler or my mood at the time. If I'm feelin' Peachy, or if it's Waluigi time. Or if it's an MMO, whoever I can make cuter.

Not at all. I play as guys sometimes because I like to imagine I'm in the game. I just like to switch it up at times because some games have you staring at their ass the whole time.

I swing both ways, ifyaknowaddamean.

As a male I sometimes create male characters because I like to transpose myself as the hero of the story.

When I make female characters it is usually because the male body is too bulky to look natural in combat or the voice/voice acting is annoying.

Sometimes I just like to see and hear a pretty woman talk every time there is a cutscene.

Plus they are almost always slender and fit in build so I'm never blocked from seeing shit in the world by hulking shoulders and even hulkier armour.

On that note, I played DC Universe Online the other day just for shits and the character creation stage pissed me off within sixty seconds.

I checked every gender/body size option just to see what options I had and the female build pissed me right off.

The male category has a super muscular hulky body, an average build medium size body, and a short wispy body, all three of which can be tall, medium, or short in height.

The female category has a fucking carbon copy of an athletic woman's body at various different heights for every option.

Oh, the Amazon thick body type has bigger tits than the other two.

I am not one to have my delicate sensibilities offended by something like this, but Jesus Christ.

If I were a feminist I would probably have a fit.

I won't ever make a female character because I would look identical to every other female character in the game with slightly varying armour.

When I'm playing RPGs, I can't really get into it unless the character I'm playing is a reflection of myself, so I play as a woman.

I've tried to play as a boy in every game I've owned that has both options - Fable 2/3, Fallout 3/New Vegas, any Dragon Age game, Skyrim, etc., and I just can't get into the headspace.

It's different if the player character is a pre-established one (ie. Batman, Dante from DMC, etc).

If you find this offensive, you probably are a feminist mate.

I just kinda go with whatever. I have a lady GTA Online character that I share with my missus. I usually play a guy because I am a guy, but now and then I make a woman. My Fallout 2 character is a chick. I guess just do what you like really, it's a fuckin' game chaps.

I make female characters when I play stuff like Mass Effect, Fallout 4, Dragon Age, etc.

In part because I prefer to see an attractive woman for hours on end rather than some buff dude, and also because they are usually smaller character models so I can see more of the world around them. I've played games where the male characters are so bulky it actually hinders my view of the battlefield, women not so much.

As for my being a feminist, I don't consider myself to be one.

The issue with feminism is that by definition it advocates the rights of women specifically on the basis of equality of the sexes. The implication being that men already have every right and women need to be brought up to that level. In reality both sexes have areas in which they are ahead of the other for numerous reasons. Women's rights are absolutely 100% an essential part of progressing as a society and a species, but they aren't the only pieces on the board. Many are trying to shift the banner title for equality to egalitarianism because it states that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities. We have to consider the rights (or lack thereof) of every group involved in the quest for equality. If not, how will we ever truly achieve it?

oh, if there's ever a choice for gender-neutral, I totally pick that. I can only think of one game off the top of my head, but how cool is that?

Hustle Cat, as it happens. It's an interesting dating sim-ish, choose-your-own-adventure-ish thing where the protagonist is Avery Grey, who you can choose is either male, female, or neutral. The people you can date are guys and girls, so that's rad too.

I watched Dodger and Octopimp play through most of the paths and I've just been patiently waiting for them to pick that back up.

A few of the CYOA games on Steam allow that. It's neat, but sometimes it gets overbearingly irritating. Purely because what the fuck is the difference between hir and xe and why does it matter in a game where you're a superhero.

I always play as a female, because y'know. Am female.

Interesting. I have never heard of a video game you can be gender neutral in. This changes everything.

Speaking as someone who is up on alternate genders and terms, idfk. I always figured that "they/them" was sufficient.
