Crap.
Even Natalie hot mouth couldn't save it.
At least I have Deadpool to watch later.
The Forest.

I saw it a few weeks ago.
Really just an aweful event to sit through.
Some of the night woods shit is creepy and well done, but overall it is just sort of blah.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I keep hoping time after time that these new horror movies will deliver, and they just don't. It's been ages since I've seen a good one.

Yeah the only horror movies these days that appeal to me are the ones spliced into comedy. I do watch a few B movies on Netflix here and there but none of them impress. I just hate directors like M. Night who base entire plot on one stupid twist, and then maybe turn into a double twist. Or if you're an asshole, a twist within a twist, within a twist. Don't ask me to explain myself, I don't know what I'm talking about.
I'm buying Krampus this weekend (I think) and hope it's cool. Looks creepy. We might as well make this thread out to something. What is everyone's favorite SUBTYPE of horror. By that I mean...
Monster
Slasher
Sci-fi
Supernatural
Paranormal
Psychological
Comedy
Gore
Might have missed a few. Me, personally, I enjoy Comedy, Supernatural, Syfy and Monster the most. Not a fan of slashers, paranormal and definitely hate gore. Ew. I can make recommendations for anyone.

My favorites are definitely paranormal, gore, and slasher flicks.

Same here with Chucky.
Never cared for Jason much.
LOVE me some Freddy.
I really enjoy what Robb Zombie did with Halloween.
I liked the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street too.

Hellraisers, now that kept me awake at night. That fits more into psychological though.

Cause that guy was freaky.
I'm trying to think of good new movies.
The only two that got close for me were Mama and As Above So Below.
One or two genuine creepy moments for me.
90% fluff tho.
I usually prefer originals, but in Halloween's case, I much more enjoyed the remake. You were able to delve deeper into how he became the monster he was.
I enjoy one of the Texas chainsaw massacre remakes more as well, tho I forget which one. The original was too gitchy for me. Could absolutely be that I saw them within close enough proximity to one another that I was spoiled by the better quality anesthetics tho. Plus the chicks were way hotter.

Yes, Pinhead is Hellraiser.
I didn't care for any Leatherface movies. The remake...is that the one with Mathew Mcconagay (sp?)
I was a fan of Full Moon Productions. Silly movies but I liked them when I was young.

No, he was in the original.
Or if it wasn't, it was the terrible version of which I refer.
The one I liked was much more recent.
There was a scene in one of the recent ones too that was awesome, when they found a girl that had gotten away, and tried driving her back..
There's a gif of it somewhere.
Super gross and awesome.
I think I've only seen puppetmaster from them.
They make creepy villains tho.

They did Dollman, Demonic Toys and...I don't remember.
You know, sometime this weekend I'll scour my Netflix instant history and post my favorite titles. I can't remember very many off the top of my head.

I really like Monster movies and Paranormal movies. A favorite horror director/producer/person of mine is James Wan, the guy who did Insidious and The Conjuring. He's got a new one coming out called "Lights out", and I'm really on the fence about seeing it, mostly because I have a HUGE fear of the dark already, so a movie about a creature that can only be seen in the dark is an automatic NOPE NOPE NOPE for me.

Oh, shit.
That's the full length from that youtube video, right?
Yeah, no, that one looks freaky af.
I can't wait.

Yeah, that's the one! Mama was also based off a YT video IIRC.
I might see it, considering I sat through Insidious and The Conjuring, it just feels like an obligation at this point. Only one of his I haven't watched yet is Dead Silence.
Also, there's another really freaky-looking one coming out called "Don't Breathe" where people are being tracked down by a blind serial killer after they break into his house. Might watch that one because I really like the actor who's playing the serial killer (Stephen Lang)

I love that they didn't use cgi, that her displaced gitchy walk was an actual person.
Hrm.. I may have to check that one out, but it doesn't sound as promising to me as Lights Out does.
