I learned German in high school. Long time ago now, and I don't really remember much. I lack German-speaking people to talk to. The German program at my college is really bad as well. My German is better than the professor's :\
If not German, are you at least semi-fluent in any other foreign languages? Or is anyone from a foreign country that doesn't have English as the official language? I don't know a significant amount of any other languages.
I'm interested in learning Vietnamese because I am Vietnamese. I was adopted as a baby (9 months old) and was raised by a white American family in Tennessee XP I'm quite strange with my southern accent. Everyone expects me to have one of those barely understanable Asian accents

When I speak German I sound really really southern though. Like, backwoods country redneck southern. It's funny as hell, but also very embarassing XP

Darn krauts, bombing our capitals, conquering Europe, making France look cowardly and weak twice! How dare they, especially that last one...horrible...really....horrible...
I keed of course, I love Germany and the accent/ language. In the fabled words of Till Lindemann,
.ich hab' keine lust etc
I second the vocalisation of our accents, I want to hear what you yanks sound like ;D

You're all yanks to me...but that being said, most Brits see America as Texas, Texas everywhere with New York in the top right, and Washington DC in the top left.
Awesome.

also i wouldn't consider myself fluent, but i know some german and am teaching myself more slowly.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.
