I thought since a lot of people are interested in game development here, I'd show you guys this.

I've moved on from Subway, and now I've found a cooler, more relevant part time job of teaching children how to make video games using a tool called Stencyl. Stencyl is cool tool where you can create 2D video games easily. I've been playing around with it, learning how it works, to hopefully take over the job in the next couple weeks, and I'm just having so much fun with this. Along with Sprite Creator, a tool to make custom sprites, you can make all sorts of 2D games -- although the kids mostly make platformers. I wish 12 year old me knew about this software, it's really unleashed the kid in me to play with it. I mean now with some effort I could program my own games but I had so many ideas as a kid that never got developed because I lacked the skills I have now.

Also, this might be something to point to when random people come in asking for programmers for their game ideas. Check it out:

Pin this shit to the top of the page.

Also, pretty fucking cool, Kitty. I remember playing with the RPG Makers for the Playstations and pc and having a whole bunch of fun. Can you do anything aside from platformers? How about a Ghost n Goblins clone? Do they come out as flashwave games?

As far as I know, you can make nearly any 2D game you can think of, although some would be a lot more work than others. For example, it seems some people have run into some problems trying to make a Pokemon like game. The platformers seem to be the easiest to make with it.

The free version lets you export as a flash game, if you pay for the software though, you can export as a desktop (.exe I think) file or even export it to play on Android/iOS.

I've played around a little, but need to do some Gimp work on catgirl enemies. Or maybe catgirls as powerups. I think I might make the main character Dante and recreate the divine comedy megaman style.

I'm pretty sure it said it was, along with Linux, I think. There were buttons.

Also, Robstar, did you ever play that Michel Jackson game where you had to dance and sing to defeat zombies? Make that, but with you rapping to defeat jabronies.

LOL Funny you should say that because my friend (Vers'z) who is also a rapper, made a game last year where his music is played in the background. I was in fact one of the villains. He didn't really complete it properly.
