The Big Bang Theory is my favorite show. What are your thoughts on it?

I hate Amy and Sheldon's relationship. He is asexual. Period.
Apart from that, I fucking love it.

I use to love it. I think I watched the first three seasons like a million times but now I'm getting to the point (which usually happens with me and shows) where I will still watch it but I'm not obsessed with it. At least the science is spot on. I hate watching shows that are so detached from the truth just to make the actors look intelligent.

My personal favorite is when they show a lab and the tech puts a sample on and in less than 60 seconds they supposedly have a full DNA match between samples..... no...... just no. ESPECIALLY when the machine they are "using" is a spectophotometer.

I use to work for a bioinformatics/genomics company sequencing/manipulating genomes. You need way more than a spectrophotometer for that

I think that there was a point in the life of the show where it was funny.
Unfortunately, I believe that it is well past that point, and moving further into unfunny territory. The writers have gotten lazy.
That being said, I'm not much of a sitcom person. My sense of humor tends towards things that are either very subtle and dark (Fargo, Harold and Maude, Pulp Fiction) or very absurdest (Monty Python, Delicatessen, Community).
Sitcoms have a tenancy to offer neither of these things (that's not necessarily a bad thing, just a matter of taste.)
So, I might not be the right person to judge a sitcom.
I do love community and fawlty towers, though

I still watch it was not as good as the first couple seasons but it makes me chuckle here and there especially the episodes where they have guests like Professor Proton, Stephen Hawking, and 'Tiny' Spock

Which is why Bones is so good (recently got into it by binge-watching it on Netflix.) They explicitly mention at various times that "Hey, that DNA match won't come back for like 24 to 48 hours." This made me realize how ridiculously quick the DNA and fingerprint matches were on Dexter (a show I binge-watched in totality in like a month.)
