I think that there should be a section specifically for cosplay like if you have questions about a cosplay or want to ask opinions on your cosplay or share a cosplay you have done.
Just a thought....

Yeah I think it fits best in nerd art, but if you have cosplay photos to show off, go ahead and make a thread!

I want to cosplay as Ryuk (from Death Note) but I'm new to this type of stuff and the "tutorials" online are completely beyond me. Help?

Ryuk might be a bit of a difficult cosplay to try as a beginner, and probably pretty expensive too if you want it to look good. Maybe look at trying something a bit simpler.

Yeah L would be good, one of the Ryuk cosplay's that I read about costs between 200-300 pounds and took like 2-3 months to make

I don't think we have that many people into cosplay right now, perhaps a cosplay general thread in the Nerd Art section (since costume design does involve arts.) will work.
