Acer Aspire 5742-7120 Laptop
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU @ 2.40 Ghz
Memory: 4GB Ram
Hard Drive: 500 GB
Display: 15.6 inch, 16:9

Try to beat that. *sob*

My computer sucks, the battery doesn't charge anymore so unplugging it kills the power, and it hardly runs the software I need for school, let alone any game. I'm getting a new one this summer. It's been an okay run with this guy though.

Mine's a little dated, but it plays everything I want it to on the highest settings, and it runs photoshop and my autodesk programs.

i5-2599k @ 4.4Ghz

16Gb Ram

120Gb SSD, 1TB and 3TB media drives, and a 32gb SSD scratch drive.

GTX 760

I've got the Razer Anasi keyboard and Naga Epic. Right now they're green.

Also, some random Acer 27" monitor

The server I'm running the games off of is a pair of Xeon L5520's with 12Gb ram and a mish mosh of hard drives I've gathered here and there. I'm pretty sure I got the supermicro board as well.

Also, the 4770 is 1cpu, 4 cores, 8 threads.

Any idea what you're looking at getting?

No idea. This one was only about $400 (you get what you pay for). I think I'll look at something around $1000 this time I think. The brand and stuff, I've no idea. I haven't really looked around. I don't think I'm going for acer again. I'd like at the very least 8GB of ram and more space, maybe a 1TB hard drive. Something I can show off to friends and bring to class without feeling embarrassed. And something I can play games with without worrying about overheating.

You should be able to get something very nice in that price range. Let us know what you're looking at when it's that time.

So, I'm a broke motherfucker, so I dumpster dived, begged friends, and spent $45 of my own money to pull together something decent....

CPU: AMD A8-5600k 3.7ghz Quad Core [OC'd to 5ghz]

Ram: 8GB DDR3-1600

GPU: GTX 570 HD [OC'd to 950mhz core, 1280mhz on memory]

Storage: 1TB Seagate Barracuda

Case: Thermalrock Circle Case [Ugly mofo]

PSU: Corsair CX500

Due to my overclocks, I have the #1 3dMark score with this setup - and 9th best 3dMark with a GTX 570 ever.
