Under less stressful circumstances I would be all over it and offer any of my skills.

Sadly I am not in a position to invest any of my time in to something like this.

I am however more than interested in seeing something like this happen, and will be eager to throw my talents/effort at it somewhere down the line.

Provided it ever gets off the ground of course.

I honestly don't know jack shit about newsletters. Seems like we have some interest though so I'll start looking into the different formats and such.

So I'm thinking an email newsletter, a few pages. Maybe one for each category on the site? Monthly or bi-weekly, depending on how popular and how much support it gets.

I'm of course open to any suggestions.

I know nothing about design or lay-out, so I couldn't help you there. I do know about editing and content though, the big thing will be drumming up enough writers to cover every topic/ almost every topic within the site, on top of that, as people would be working for free I assume you'd have to make it flexible around writers' IRL schedules. It's a commitment to do this sort of thing because if you miss a deadline or a writer drops out they let the team down. Fortnightly might be a bit much to ask but monthly seems appropriate. If it took off and we could get more and more writers you could then potentially report on more recent news/ subjects and shift into a fortnightly format.

Right, that's why my original thought was monthly, plenty of time to write an article. Like you said, only increase it if the amount of writers and audience grows to accommodate. 

I'd have no problem doing the design, and maybe an article to two. I imagine the first few will probably be relatively small anyways. 

I imagine that if the newsletter got somewhat popular it would turn into good advertising for NF.

Well if ever want to shoot me a PM or something buzz me, I'd be more than willing to help out as much as I can. I'm working for an internet news magazine on a monthly basis at the moment so I'm starting to learn a little about the bidniss involved. X3
