Only a certain number of people can ride something like a rollercoaster at one time, the rest must wait in line. This is like Nerdforum, a few people come in and post then go about their lives. Short burst of enjoyment, then you wait for someone to come in and reply.

haha I do that too.. writing in backets if I don't know a word... worst of all is if I only know a dialect word then I can't even use the dictionary xD

I actually have to say YES to chatbox, but that's just cause I'm lonely and very chatty these days xD

In the end I can't say you're wrong, the forum I used to lurk at went down with people basically throwing random stuff in the chatbox, not making threads anymore. Feels great to meet some admins who know their shit. I like it here already !
