How's the graphic design going? And pictures of the custom cards?
Graphic design is going passably well; I had to get a new PC after my previous one died, so I lost a lot of my prototypes and whatnot in the process, since pretty much everything on the old computer collapsed upon itself at the same time. It was held together by my battlefield repairs, including screws installed through the laptop's plating (which went through the USB slots) to keep the casing together. Oop.
No pictures of the cards, since they're designed for a fanfiction; in essence, they're text-based. I have approximately 600 in total, however, spanning more than thirty custom archetypes.
Most of my spare time is spent on either writing, or teaching myself graphics design. Working upwards of 70 hours a week hurts, but my insomnia means that I have plenty of time to do my hobbies nonetheless, at the cost of being dog-tired all the time. As part of the writing side of things I've also been making custom Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (since my main project is a YGO fanfiction).
I will stand by my tested and perfected technique of completely ignoring it for a year, maybe two, then getting it on sale or having it show up for free in the Playstation store. Most of the bugs will be fixed, guides will be thoroughly established online, and i won't have to spend a silly amount of money on something that might suck.
I've become wise though experience and I'm never going back.
Honestly, same. I bought Far Cry 4 on sale as a bundle with all the DLC + Far Cry 3 HD (or Remaster, or whatever they taglined it as) for about $10; I spent the same for Far Cry 5's ultimate/gold edition. I don't trust Ubisoft enough to give them full dues, especially not upon a game's release. I still remember the abortion that was Assassins Creed 3.
