#52288 Howdy everyone - The names Cade and im the admin of Nerd Culture

Posted by caderoni on 29 July 2013 - 10:42 PM in Introductions

Hey everyone, I am Cade and I have been an avid “nerd” for as long as I can remember (Seriously, I’ve been into everything geeky since birth — From the womb to the tomb baby!)378139_2022033330829_1750494095_n-281x30

Over the years I have accumulated quite a taste for everything game oriented — from block busting shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield to popular rpgs like the TES series, the Fallout series, World of Warcraft and even Runescape. I have easily clocked in tens of thousands of hours gaming sharing those many nostalgic moments we all know and love like totally ANNIHILATING your first dragon in Skyrim, watching Megaton burn in nuclear fire from the posh Tenpenny Towers in Fallout, maxing out your Paladin on World of Warcraft (FOR THE HORDE!) and even uniting the galaxy against the forthcoming reaper invasion in Mass Effect — A few of the many experiences we have come to see as “nostalgic”.

Alongside gaming, I also have a vast interest in media weather it be Music or Movies; it is a niche of sorts. Growing up on the best Horror, Action and Comedy movies I can proudly say — my parents have raised me right. I have an ever growing movie collection of over 400 films, full of the classics we’ve all grown to know and love. Personally — I LOVE horror flicks, a personal favorite being Shaun of the Dead, by far one of the best comedy zombie apocalypse movies I’ve ever seen. As far as Music goes I have a versatile taste – Spanning from Metal, Alternative, Rock and Country to Rap, Dubstep, Jazz and even Big Band (My itunes library stands at a whopping 25k — and is still growing! – its crazy how many new noises one can find while searching for a single verse or chord).

Anyways, cutting to the chase, the reason I created this site was to give folks a place to read up on, experience and find everything nerdy. Keeping others in the loop about popular media (and not so popular media). As nerds – we are of a newer generation; a more accepted generation, thus why not try to flourish? Together we can educate one another on the culture of the G®eek! In a way it is a means to share personal experiences with you guys about all these topics and then some.

I also ask that if I ever say anything that captures your interest, that you get involved within my site. I love to talk about gaming and media and if you have anything interesting that you want to share or any opinions of any of the content I have created on my sire, please do speak up. I love feedback in every form!

SO NOW TO ME…

I am currently 16 years old. According to my close friends I am quite the people person – your average run of the mill quiet brainy kid (Except maybe with more social skills haha, I really enjoy the company of people!). Personally I feel myself a nerd at heart though and it defiantly shows through my usage of speech (Some may say I’m a silver tongued devil, but really, I just leveled my speech to 100 (;) or my references to popular “Nerd Culture”, hell even my love for anime gives away my nerdy side. My entire life has been centered around gaming, and I can’t exactly tell you how it happened. I know my first gaming memory consists of playing Batman on my dads Sega emulator at the age of 1, just smashing buttons not really knowing what the hell was going on – I think I may had accidentally broken a controller or two as well haha. Thankfully I’ve had better luck with consoles since then moving up the scales of gaming.

To me Gaming isn’t a hobby, but a passion — something that can take you away from the ill fates of reality and replace them with magnificent events, experiences and moments of chivalry, heroism, nostalgia and pure badassery (Is that even a word?) – to share and socialize with friends all over the world (For me its local friends and a few others from Texas, Yee-Haww). Really though, gaming has done A LOT for me. It has been my way to escape the death of close relatives, the constant fighting of my now divorced (Still splitting up) parents and even those hardships with friends. Along with being my escape it has also inspired me to in essence “Level Up”. Through the eyes of Ezio Auditore and Booker DeWitt I have lost almost 40lbs in the past 3 months. Through the mind of Morrigan: With of the Wilds I have earned a 3.0 GPA thought most of my Sophomore and soon to be Junior years of High School. Gaming is a lifestyle and a part of everyday Nerd Culture. My Culture. Our Culture.

Anyways, I wish you all the best with everything Nerdy Geeky and Somewhat Off and would like to thank you for dropping by! (:

Cheers,

Cade
