#45192 The Interesting things about your Family Thread!

Posted by LonesomeDrifter on 12 March 2013 - 05:42 AM in Everything Else

One ancestor of mine was in the SAS during WWII, but was executed for looting while in France.

My mother's side, my great grandfather was a bare knuckle boxer and a member of the IRA.

My uncle wrote a book of horror stories when he was 15 and tried to get it published. But they refused him because they were too gory for a teenager to be writing. Another uncle wrote a few episodes of Shameless when he was the script editor.

You should definitely stab him with a pen. Shame you're not Irish, when people take the piss out of my Irish heritage I threaten to get the pikeys round to tear up their front drive way.

You and I are alot alike.

There is someone in my school who tries to fight everyone, but no one ever actually fought him. He went to the gym and all and I think people were frightened of him. One day he started trying to start a fight with me. I just stood up and headbutted him. He has stopped trying to start fights with everyone now.

#42025 What is the meaning of life?

Posted by LonesomeDrifter on 09 February 2013 - 10:32 PM in Everything Else

The meaning of life is simply try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations...

Been watching Monty Python eh?

#41861 Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Posted by LonesomeDrifter on 08 February 2013 - 08:48 PM in Video Games

The beginning was quite boring, but apart from that it was a great game. I absolutly loved it. On my first playthrough, I had a stealth character and a combat character on my second. For me they played out like they were two different games. I recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it yet.

#41859 Dishonored

Posted by LonesomeDrifter on 08 February 2013 - 08:37 PM in Video Games

It was... okay. I liked the storyline, but everything else just seemed so underdeveloped. I quite like stealth games, but I think it should have spent longer in development. To me, it just felt like they were trying to start a new franchise instead of making a good game, with interesting visuals and gameplay that isn't repetitive as hell.

#41849 What are you reading?

At the moment I'm chewing through the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett, and the Bakuman graphic novels by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata (the ones responsible for Death Note).

I've just started  reading through the Discworld novels myself. I'm about halfway through The Colour of Magic.
