Greetings. Welcome to the forum.

I get what you guys are saying...

The show is dark. It's not scary but dark. It makes you think of what others think about. It's the twisted thoughts that come into someone's mind.

For example first season the sex scene with tate that ends up being a ghost that ends up getting the mother/wife pregnant.

Or season 3 where they are witches and what the witch did to the guy who had sex with her daughter.

Things like that. It interests me. Everyone has their own opinion but when you watch it you kind of have to be open minded.

it's not that it goes down hill its just people's interest change. Honestly from what I seen in season 3 I enjoy it but season 2 was confusing by the first episode.

Big American Horror Story Fan. Just haven't been able to keep up with third season as much as I wanted. As for horror movies I love them. I'm a big Texas chainsaw massacre fan because of it being based on Ed Gein. Also a serial killer fanatic.

Favorite movies though:

-Psycho

-Texas Chainsaw Massacre

-Nightmare on Elm St

-Friday the 13th

-American Psycho

-Haunting In Connecticut

-Night of the living dead

-George Romero Films.

-etc

I have a question. Does American Horror Story get dramatically better after the first season? I watched around half of the first season and found it incredibly silly. I'm not trying to insult anyone's opinion, I honestly want to know what the fuss is about.

As for horror, I like Silent Hill (I've never played any of them, but their story and music is great). I also think The Thing is great. I also enjoyed a let's play I saw of the Penumbra games. I also enjoyed a let's play of D and D2.

Seconded, I tried one episode of the American Horror Story when I found out about its high scores, but then left disappointed by the mediocre acting and completely non-immersing story. But then again, it doesn't have much rivalry in that genre ..

Favourite horror: Cabin in the woods. But it's meant to be a kind of satire and parody of other horror movies, still a great ride.

Other than that, The Thing, Alien, Exorcisms of Emily Rose, the first Paranormal Activity, Sinister and Shutter were all great in my opinion. Event Horizon was pretty cool too.

Thirded - came off like they were trying to 'shake things up' but only recycled borderline horror cliches.

Otherwise - The Mummy [1932], Night of the Living Dead [1968], The Excorcist [1973], Halloween [1978], The Shining [1980], The Ring [2002], Paranormal Activity [2007], The Conjuring [2013] & most of the ones already listed. Does Shaun of the Dead [2004] count as favorite horror? It has a lot of humor in it.

Ironically most AHS Fans say that season one was the best season. It's a good show if you give it a chance.
