I use the Harmony 700 (quick image search showed some conflicting results, but mine has a D-pad). I think it let's me register 6 or 8 devices, and as far as my PS3 goes, it can kick it off and purportedly use some of the button keys, but in direct conflict to your remote-reduction requirement, I still find the PS3 controller far superior to use. Essentially, I have 3 remotes - Harmony (multipel TV/audio and profiles, e.g. Bedroom, Living Room, etc.), PS3 (bluetooth), and Roku remote(Wi-Fi Direct). It's admitadly still a bit annoying as I'd like one package for everything, but the Harmony solution for that isn't worth my time.
