It depends more on the style you like. If you like grindcore/goregrind go for Reek of Putrefaction or Symphonies of Sickness. If you like a more solid death metal style go for Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious. If your into melodic death metal defiantly go for Heartwork or Swansong. Heartwork is essentially the first melodeath album released, along with one of the most influential death metal albums ever released. I would have to say Heartwork.

Amott was the lead guitarist for Carcass during Necrotism - Heartwork, he left to work on side projects, Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars.ya, that is an awesome band can't say I have ever heard of them honestly. I love arch enemy.........the singer is, I suppose pretty, and then you hear this voice that blows you away. Although my favorite music is goth and such like that. In high school I always either had death metal or gothic playing so always love hearing this music. Really amps me up and gets me moving. Either this or opera I will play during house cleaning HA HA
