#95003 Diablo 3

Posted by Bestmand902 on 28 August 2015 - 08:26 PM

So, fun fact about Diablo 3:

Alucard from Hellsing and Azula from Avatar are the male and female Wizard.

Just a little note I felt like sharing.

#94991 High School reunions

All my friends from high school either turned into heroin addicts or died. Or turned into heroin addicts and died.

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Spleen actually wants to burn the world.

What a shame to see such a good man die.
I hope the next life is kind to him.

#94534 Thoughts on the damsel in distress trope?

Posted by Bestmand902 on 17 August 2015 - 05:06 PM

Personally tho, as far as the damsel in distress goes, I prefer character like LiLu in Fifth Element.

She's absolutely capable on her own and strong, but she does have a softness to her that she shows when she trusts someone enough.

I don't like when the female character is absolutely useless and needs to be saved all the time.

It's tiring and boring to me.

I like that kind of character too! I don't mind a character showing emotions, so long as that character is capable on her own and strong. And yeah, it really does suck when a female character has to constantly be saved, it's like the writers were thinking "Hey, we can't think of a different conflict for this story, so let's just make the female character a damsel again!"

#94522 Thoughts on the damsel in distress trope?

So, this is kind of a random topic.

For the people who don't know, the damsel in distress trope is when a female character is kidnapped and needs to be rescued. I personally really don't like this trope. My main problem with it is that it's boring, overdone, and more than a little sexist in my eyes. It pretty much renders a potentially interesting female character into nothing more than a trophy or a prize for the hero to win. I feel it implies that a female can't do anything on her own without a male character.

The worst examples of this are when a character who has been previously shown to kick large amounts of ass, is suddenly kidnapped for no other reason than the fact that the writers needed something for the climax. Again, I feel it's lazy writing and makes the character inconsistent.

Then again, these are just my opinions. Let me know what you guys think.

#94440 Crash Bandicoot

So, anyone else have fond memories of this game?
Crash Bandicoot was one of my favorite games on the PS1, and it's still really, really fun to go back and play again and again. Shame there hasn't been a new game in so long.

Also, fun fact: The game was supposed to have traditionally animated cutscenes, but they ended up getting cut:

Do people just search for Nerd Forum and assume we're the stereotypical nerds from television and so we'll go along with this junk?

Eh, who knows.

I'm personally banking on him being a robot. Imagine: An A.I solely focused on fat chicks, degrading people, and weight gain.

I wish I had something more clever to say, but there you go.

Probably 100 pounds overweight. So you would date an obese feminist? I thought all guys wanted the cheerleader type?

Please fuck off, nobody here gives even a fraction of a shit about you, your thoughts/opinions, or your creepy fixation on weight and cheerleaders.

Bye, hope to see you never again.

Kinda tasteless, but:

...I'm sorry.

Edit: that probably wasn't something I should've done, but it was funny at the time. I really didn't mean any offense. In hindsight, making fun of an event where people died was not a smart idea.

#94128 Kingdom Hearts 3

Posted by Bestmand902 on 13 August 2015 - 04:39 AM

So, Kingdom Hearts 3 is supposed to be coming out probably around 2016 or 2017, and we're going to get some new footage on Sunday and new footage in November.

So...

What are your thoughts? What new worlds do you want to see? What worlds do you want to see return? What worlds do you NOT want to see or return from the previous games?

I'm personally hoping for a world based on Atlantis: The Lost Empire or Treasure Planet (Which are some of the better Disney movies, IMO). I really hope they do some unexpected ones, like how Tron wasn't expected in Kingdom Hearts 2, or how Nightmare Before Christmas wasn't expected in Kingdom Hearts 1. So if we get something like Robin Hood, Great Mouse Detective, Black Cauldron (Which I feel is really likely) or The Rescuers, I'd be happy with that. As for other ones, I really want Jungle Book (Because apparently, there was supposed to be a Jungle Book world in Birth By Sleep, but it got cut out for some unknown reason.) and Princess and The Frog (For the sole reason of having Doctor Facilier around. Seriously, the dude is my favorite Disney Villain and it'd be a shame not to have him around)

I really, REALLY do not want Atlantica back, Everything in Atlantica was pretty much HELL for me in the first two games. Marvel stuff and Star Wars stuff, I feel is best left for Kingdom Hearts 4, if there is going to be one. Maybe some kind of DLC, because from what I heard, this game is bringing some closure to the ongoing plotline of the games. So, it's kind of too late to insert a universe as big and complicated as Marvel or Star Wars into Kingdom Hearts. It's just a worry that it might overshadow the rest of what's going on. Also, I have the feeling they're not bringing back Halloweentown. I love Nightmare Before Christmas, but I don't think there was a whole lot that they could've done with it.

As for stuff I know we're getting back, in the E3 footage, the level that gets the most focus is Mount Olympus from Hercules, so we're getting Hercules back (I honestly don't mind - The Colosseum in both games was amazingly fun in my opinion). Gilbert Gottfried confirmed that he was done recording voice work for Kingdom Hearts 3, which probably means we're getting Agrabah back (I really hope it's not the city again - If they do something with Aladdin 3 or something with the animated series, I'll be happy).

As for stuff I personally want back: I really want the Pride Lands back, if only because I really want them to do something with Lion King 2 (Which is one of the exceptions to the shitty direct-to-video sequel rule, along with the Aladdin sequels). I really want them to do something with Lilo and Stitch again, if only because I really love Lilo and Stitch. I want another Beauty and The Beast world, mostly because I really want Gaston in Kingdom Hearts to make up for how he ended up not appearing in the Beauty and The Beast world in Kingdom Hearts 2. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Neverland or Land Of The Dragons (Mulan's world) back, because both were really fun worlds in their respective games.

...Holy shit, I typed a LOT. I guess I have a lot of thoughts on this. Anyway, let me know what your guys' thoughts are.
