Akiyo is going to be on soon, and so will I. So about 20 minutes. Then we'll probably be on for a long while. We'll hangout in the server for a few hours hoping more people show up.

One of my favorite bands. Have seen them live three times.

The Birth And Death Of The Day by Explosions In The Sky
I need something relaxing today, take my mind away from my thoughts. Listening to this music is like going on vacation without packing up my suitcase! :)

#68110 Talk to the Dead.

Posted by Caelwyn on 03 April 2014 - 08:10 PM

Not much love lately for science here, so thought I could start a discussion.

A group at MIT has developed a video chat service with the dead. This website helps you build a digital personality after your death. This in turn means you can speak to a loved one online after death. I guess the website gathers and processes information you've done during your lifetime with complex algorithms. Including information  from your chat logs, social network information, photos, and emails to generate a virtual profile with memories and personality.

Personally, I think it's an interesting and innovative idea, but the practical uses for this are slim. Who would really, honestly use this website to hold onto a bond with a loved one? Maybe I'm being too harsh. What do you guys think about this?

You are right about the kidrobot haha. I guess those bowties may come in handy too someday. o.o I guess I can do my best Bill Nye impression wearing one, right? *dies*

I will be honest and say that I am not as big a watcher of anime as all the rest of you kids, but damn is that show fucking enthralling. Can't tell you one thing wrong with it from my perspective. Well when you get yours let me know, and I'll do the same (if you want.)

You, The Robstar, and I should start a club where we cry and hold each other while not getting paid.

I am also a college graduate currently doing fuck-all.

BA in French, unemployed for 9 months and counting.

On that cheery note, welcome indeed.

Well, the Degree/Certificate hybrid I got was to a specific, industry standard course designed by the school. Though I did receive some certs for specific hardware/software. So the course entailed everything from how waveforms are created, and different kinds, to troubleshooting a recording session.  We covered a lot, and were placed into internships. I live in Las Vegas and had no funds to do my internship where the industry is thriving such as LA, or Austin. Had to come back home. So we're on the same boat.

Very interesting. What exactly does your degree/diploma/cert specialize in? Like becoming a music producer of sorts? In any case I feel your pain, I graduated in Video Production/Computer Graphics and are unable to find work in my field as well. It basically comes down to where I'm living because agriculture and horticulture primarily dominate the job scene here.

#67527 What do you look for in a game?

Mostly the atmosphere, the way it makes me feel while playing.
