#85875 Nanking [WARNING: SUPER-HEAVY TOPIC]

Yeah, direct democracy has problems.  John Locke solved most of those with the idea that the Founders/Framers eventually put into place:  a constitutional republic.

Communism as a governing philosophy, much like socialism, is dependent on contradictions that tend to lead to authoritarianism.  (Authoritarianism on a mass scale is generally colloquially known as fascism.)

The 80 million dead was under, mostly, Stalin and Mao.  But you can also throw in Che, Castro, Pol Pot, and a few others.

Yes, I have read by Wikipedia that 29% People in Pennsylvenia came from Germany.

Cool beans.

I don't like Germany. It's to cold. I living in spain. :)

All a matter of taste, I suppose.  I live in Pennsylvania but my parents aren't from the region originally.  So many of my fellow German-American brethren in this area.  The "Pennsylvania Dutch" are actually German because the settlers that got there before them are idiots.  Confused Deutsch for Dutch somehow.

I took like, what, six and a third years of it from sixth grade through twelfth grade.  Even got to go to Germany and Austria as part of a class trip the summer after my tenth grade year.

It's a Kevin Hart buddy movie with the guy who voiced Olaf in Frozen with Hurley from LOST thrown in for good measure.

If you don't like these kinds of movies, whatever.  I needed the laugh when I saw it and it provided them.

That's really cool. I really admire people that can speak of understand another language

Well, in Canada, especially the French Quarter, isn't that essentially taught in schools very early?  Because of the commonality of the French language in those parts of Canada?

In America, we're generally not required to be fluent in any other language than English, and not even that in some places.

Although it should be said, if you're not fluent in English in America, you're probably not gonna get that job when you show up to the interview and can't communicate with them.

The only ways I play Skyrim are either the cat race I downloaded, or the temptress. >_>

J'zargo always made me laugh in Sips' playthrough of Skyrim.

I'd like to see one with opal instead of pearl.

The sapphire, ruby, and emerald Triforce was also a reference to my favorite generation of Pokemon games.  Because, why not?

On the subject of WoW, how about the Sword of a Thousand Truths?

#85113 Best Zelda Game?

Posted by Big_Willie_Styles on 14 January 2015 - 11:23 AM

I loved Ocarina of Time--I actually own an ocarina, though not the same as the one in the game, but I really love the art style in Windwaker, I remember when it just came out people were all against the cartoony look, and as they played, pretty much everyone fell in love with the art style and the huge, open world and the story. It's one of my favourites.

I'm excited for the new one coming out, even though I don't have a Wii U yet.

They sell licensed ones somewhere because of course they do.  The directions are liable to be in Japanese though, as the licensed product will probably be an import.

I've only ever played two ocarina of time and windwaker.. out of those i preferred ocarina of time ^^

Same, but Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda.  Not my favorite, but my first.  You always like your first a lot.  Innuendo...

Slumdog Millionaire was a great movie, Trainspotting was okay ... but still

Stanley Kubrick, Charlie Chaplin ... 2 of the best directors, who also happen to be deceased.

James Cameron is worth a mention for Terminator 1, 2, Titanic, Rambo, Aliens. But Avatar is shit, and I hope the sequels are no good.

Amen on that, brotha.

Can I get an Amen?

I'd probably get a three gem engagement ring to form the Triforce over a gold wedding band.  Like an Emerald, a Sapphire, and a Ruby triangularly cut and placed to form the Triforce.

#84871 Best Sci-Fi video game of all time

Oh snap! That tune! Mario is such a top dog.

This guy's videos are epic.

I just had to do it.

Smooth McGroove is awesome.  I own all his albums.
