First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Michonne is really awesome, and from the trailers it looks like they aren't fucking with her character.
I'm not a fan of the show version of Andrea. Compared to the comic version she's kind of pathetic? (strong word?).
I can never play favorites in anything (I don't have a favorite movie, show, music style, band etc) but I really LIKE, Deb Morgan from Dexter, Zoe from Firefly, Arya from Song of Ice and Fire.....etc.

My goal is not to try and cover up all cleavage or make women feel mediocre. I think all women are sexy in all sorts of ways, not just by showing off their tits.
Everyone wants to be sexy and see "sexy" people, but they shouldn't be defined by it.........enough ranting for today...

And so Affray used his powers of ressurection to bring this thing back to life.
Found this while stumbling and felt it should be shared.
It also fits here.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Very interesting read. I always thought some things try too hard with cool female characters. I think the anime version of Witchblade had a good, if not awkwardly subverted, balance of this. Anime in general is filled with busty ladies who often have certain gender specific roles assigned to them that can be broken down by general attributes, breast size, and basic physical attributes. Lead protagonist, often b-d cup, long hair. Strong support, a-c cup, short hair, tight frame. Smarty pants, a-b cup, glasses are a must, hair's usually long and twin-tailed.
I'm getting around to Witchblade. It had an almost exclusive female crew. All of them, aside from the child and pettanekko with childish complex, sported unearthly DD's you only find in hentai. Protagonist was an idiot who fought and drank; one part Goku, one part Misato. The majority of her enemies were women with super powers, the most common kind if you get my meaning. Blades and monsters and sex and all of it looked like it was written by a twelve year old boy who'd watched too much Dragon Ball Z and decided to sub busty chicks.
But it's not. Misane (Had to look it up, she's MC) is a loving mother who hates fighting and is probably a virgin, not the hyper sexual demon she is in fighting mode. She's a normal woman thrust into a weird ass situation. It's full of fanservice, but there's a lot more beneath the surface. There has to be a balance of kick-ass heroin and normal, believable character. Which is why I will forever say Betty White should have been Batman. Not Adam West version when she was young, but about 1999 when Arnold was Freeze and she was the silver-haired sexpot we know from Golden Girls.
TL;DR Big tit anime woman is good woman written for. Betty White as Batman.
My first novel, Seeds of Magic- Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Kobo, Sony Store

That's the thing, you say it's a few extremists, but then I don't actually know any moderates. Haha, well I certainly hope I'm just unlucky.
As before, good luck! I do hope you hang about the forums nevertheless, it's a great community! =)
This ^
i dont think i have ever met a woman who would label themselves a feminist that wasnt a cold blooded harpy that seemed to believe all men's genitalia belonged on a sharp stick over a hot flame.
No offense intended as you dont appear to be that way, just saying a "moderate" feminist is something i have never previously encountered
Have to agree with these two, most of the women I've been unlucky to meet are vehemently against men, and more interested in womans supremacy than they are equality.
I've yet to meet a single woman who wants equal treatment for all people, who associates with the feminist movement because of large population of extremists.

How do you guys feel about Sailormoon in all this? I grew up rather rabidly obsessed, and kind-of learned everything I ever needed to know therein. To this day, Usagi gives me more hope than anyone else I've ever seen. (Except maybe V, I haven't fought that mental battle yet.)
Mamoru is kind-of a stereotype in that he's a rather non-affectionate Japanese man, and the Soldiers are all unreasonably pretty, but that last bit is just par for the course. And when you add the Starlights...
It's just so diverse. That's what I love about it. I think that's why it works so well plot-wise. Not The Hero? You don't have to be. Just do your best and kick ass when it calls for it. And pure love, baby.
