So yeah. I'm pretty much a complete novice at Photoshop, but I do occasionally output good stuff (I think, at least) So here it is. Oldest to newest.

I've been meaning to ask, did you do the smudgy things in the first sig your self, or was that already part of the render?

"Smudgey things" look like prefab photoshop or GIMP brushes

look up free GIMP or photoshop grunge brushes, and you'll see alot of those


OP: I make wallpapers and sigs in the same fashion, although lately I've just been lazy with screencrops

I know. I used to make nothing but grunge sigs in Gimp a few years back. I downloaded all the brush packs I could find on deviantART, but I have seen some people do things like that with smudging.

PlanetRenders, BakaRenders, and a bunch of packs I downloaded from Mediafire. And occasionally I render things myself i.e pictures from Konachan or the -booru network.

The very bottom sig is really well done. The lighting and contrast of the second sig from the top is used to great effect.

Thanks. The second from top was done by following a tutorial I found on DeviantArt (which I wish I could find again, I should really bookmark these things). The most recent is the first one I've created using an actual background image, rather than using C4Ds/brushes to create my own. I've been trying to work on a Silent Hill themed one, but I'm having trouble finding the right image for it.
