Does anyone here partake in it? I don't personally, but I like seeing people who do. It's always really interesting to see the costumes and props they come up with.

I was Kagome for Halloween one year and I made my son shippo and my daughter a baby Kikyo. >.>

I've also been a generic Geisha, tho I had a short skirt with a red tulle slip underneath and corset heels so it wasn't so generic I guess. <.<

I've always wanted to go to a convention tho.
They seem fun.

There was a modernized Ed Elric idea I had a while back that I wanted to try out.
Was considering whether I wanted to cut my hair and bleach it or just find a wig tho.

My feelings on cosplay is it can be really really good or really really bad.

There is no in between. <.<

A modern Ed would be pretty cool. Probably best if you just get a wig though.

Yeah, there is some really bad stuff I've seen.

If I was 15 to 20 years younger I would totally get into it I think.

I like stuff like this lady who plays as Samus Aran, bodyarmor is something that is very hard to make into a costume while staying believable.

Yeah, the lady that does that is very good, and from what I understand she makes the armor herself. That's a whole lot of craftsmanship put into it.

Yeah, probably.

I'd have to cut the wig to make it the way I wanted tho.

I guess it's better than shaving parts of my head. <.<

I love making halloween costumes, but that's about it. My roommate and I wanted to go to Marcon (or however you spell it, she only told me about it) dressed as Cosmo and Wanda, but I don't know if that's actually happening.

Not sure if that even counts. Does cosplay have to be for anime?

That sounds pretty awesome, I used watch that show pretty often.

It doesn't have to be anime, I've seen lots of video games and such too, I just think anime is the most common.

Oh goodness, I may regret this but I cosplay as Mamimi from FLCL, Satoru Yamashita from Linebarrels of Iron, Mitsuru Kirijo from P3 and...Bash Zwingli. Apparently I'm very lonely... I don't have any pictures at the moment but I might after the convention in April. I like to do basic costumes so I won't end up looking too horrible.

although not really an anime character i am currently making an Ezio Auditore cosplay for the upcoming matsuricon. Making the hidden blades work just how i want is a little bit of work but theyll be in working order soon

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'm a particularly cheap person, so I always save up my money either for merch or food. If I cosplay anything, I cosplay as myself. And I am damn good at it too. I mean, I look so much like the character, its not even funny. I think its nice and all, that people cosplay, but I don't really care for it in any way, I look at it and just keep walking. When I'm in conventions, the collectibles is what calls out to me.
