No problem, Sympa. Like Affray said though, it's not a very good movie. Just a really cool quote and scene. One of those movies that has one joke/scene that works and the rest of the movie is trash. Btw, Dreamcast still has third party games that are being released. Gamecube doesn't have any new games as of late.

I'm sorry, who the fuck is still making games for the Dreamcast.

Oh yeah. Sorry. I meant to say homebrew games, not third party. There are some new hombrew games for the Dreamcast, but there are not any new ones for the Gamecube. The Dreamcast was discontinued in 2001 for North America and in 2007 for Japan.

Oh, that's pretty cool. Knowing nothing about homebrew video games, are those like ROM hacks, or literally ground-up new games?

Sorry I was so late in responding to this, but it was right before the entire site was bombarded with bots. They are mostly ground-up games, but I have played a few ROM hacks on Sega Master System, such as Tower of Sorrow, which was a hack of Alex Kidd.

Okay, so. Alex Kidd. I've played one of the ones on the Genesis. It was... Not good. Are there good Alex Kidd games?

Papi Commando In C++ Land is a very good ROM hack of Alex Kidd. It is also a Master System game.

The N64 controller is actually my favorite. As far as playing any game well, Playstation (any generation) controllers are my favorite, followed closely by NES and SNES controllers.

My main question for liking the N64 controller is: how did you hold it? There were two unnecessary buttons on the right side and that weird analog stick that was attached to a long piece in the middle.

There is no way to use it without having to switch grips constantly because they split the buttons between three handles.

It's such an uncomfortable thing to use, I actually never got an N64 and a big part of it was because I couldn't play it at friend's houses without getting frustrated.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

The N64 controller is simple to use. Right hand on right handle. Left hand on either left or middle handle depending on whether the game uses dpad or control stick, respectively. Not as refined as the dualshock and everything that came after, but a servicable intermediary step. I would only want to use the N64 controller for N64 games.

I can still feel the gritty grind of an old analog stick into my palm as I play Pokemon Stadium minigames.

I have never played anything on Nintendo 64, but I have played with a Gamecube at a friend's house. The N64 controller can't be as bad as the Atari Jaguar. I don't think anything comes close, unless it's the Intellivision or the Colecovision, but at least those were a lot smaller and easier to hold.

The Intellivision was such an odd controller. It's clear that if something other than joysticks and TV remotes existed, it would have been wildly different. Like, they just weren't sure how to make a controller.

There just wasn't one with handles yet. There were very few gaming systems back then. It was like: Pong consoles, a Magnavox Odyssey, which was just a dot on the screen, or Intellivision/Colecovision. Once the Atari 2600 came out, many other consoles tried to compete, which is what caused the crash in 1983. On the other hand, the Atari Jaguar had no excuse for their awful controllers because it came out right after the SNES, which was just a few years away from consoles using CD based games.

You could end that sentence right there, really.

I could have, but I love talking about history. It was always my best subject in school. Geez, I feel old saying that because of how long it's been since I was in school.
