What do you think about the Witcher series and novels by Andrzej Sapkowski? The game is known, but in my opinion books have their own atmosphere. For me the best of the best is the first novel in the series: "The Witcher" from 1986.

The Witcher books and short novels are known as the Witcher Saga. Like in game - it's dark fantasy and if You like this kind of stories (individual hero vs his destiny and political intrigues in fantasy world), You'll be satisfied. Geralt of Rivia is great character. The Netflix series is based on the books.
