Will gay marriage start a civil war in India? Any opinions are welcome. https://instinctmaga...me-sex-affairs/

Well I don't think it has caused civil war in any other countries yet, so I'm gonna say... no.

It didn't cause much trouble in countries where most of the population supported same sex marriage or didn't care enough to oppose it. The remaining countries where it is illegal tend to have a bit more of an aggressive stance on the subject. Though I don't think it will cause any sort of civil war, I can definitely see potential for some serious political strife stemming from it.

I guess you mean in the northern area of India. In that case, I could see it happening, but only if there were other reasons involved. I think same sex marriage alone could only cause protests at most, but India has been experiencing some territorial problems for a very long time. It's possible, just highly unlikely.

I agree with Bowsette. There has never been a country that had a civil war based only on people who simply want to love each other. India has hinduism as their main religion. Hinus don't usually mind homosexuality. It's mostly just the Muslims there who want to prevent it.

Yeah, probs not.

But what an excellent opportunity to mention a wonderful charity! The Rainbow Railroad is a wonderful charity that helps LGTB+ people escape violent situations. All over the world, there are so many people in constant danger of violence and/or death for the simple crime of existing.

How wonderful that there is at least a small hope. As Mister Rogers said, "Look for the helpers."

There will never be a war that starts because of gay marriage rights. Every war that was ever created was started because of money, power, or political disagreements. I don't really understand the concept of why some wars are called civil wars, if there is nothing civil about war. (Btw, the poll resembles an enormous penis, which I thought was amusing in a topic like this.)

Are you serious?

If so, "civil" wars refer to wars within a country, as opposed to two countries fighting each other.

I know what a civil war is, I just didn't understand why it's called that. Like, shouldn't it be called an "inner war" instead?

It's called a civil war because it pertains to the regular population being in conflict.

The secondary definition about being polite isn't the one being used in this situation.
