they're both entry level cards now, really. they're not really too far apart in terms of performance from what i'm seeing. most things i'm reading up on the two suggest the 520 is the better choice, strictly cause of the slightly newer architecture and the lower power consumption.

that said, i've still got a 430, and while i can't go buy the latest and greatest pc game and run it at ultra, i can play things at med-high. good enough for me for now.

As mentioned, it's an entry level card, but still isn't bad for lower settings on most new games. If you want to focus on gaming, I'd suggest at least a mid level card. *50 or higher in the nvidia line. Describing it in the ATI line is a bit harder. If you'd like to purchase a new one, here's a listing of the current best cards for different price ranges: http://www.tomshardw...eview,3107.html

Also, be sure all your drivers are up to date, it will help you get the best performance from your card.

When you get ready to buy a new one, look through the site (or post here) as a new list is created every month based on price changes, new cards, etc.

A 520 isn't a bad card, it's just on the low end of the modern spectrum.

i will keep on my GT 520 until upgrade the whole PC to new one
or even buy a gaming PC
