Would definately attract more people
You could do those survey things for paypal moneypacks and gamecards and stuff, too, and make a little money off of it

Yeah, I can always delete spam though.Sounds like a good idea, the only pitfall is younger, inexperienced members who join might just post spam everywhere to try and get the prize, the quantity over content problem.

Weighted point system
you get regular points for your first X posts
1/2 points after X1 posts
1/4 points after X2 posts
have it reset at the end of the day, and I think you could effectively decide how much people are going to post
just fiddle around with the Xs
Also:
More points for Liked replies : Encourage less spamming and low-content bullcrap
Higher rank more points : Encourage people to stick with 1 account, so they don't make 10 accounts to spam with
Better behavior [no referrals, few reports, no bans/suspensions] earn you full points, with bad behavior you earn less
You could sell board things for the points [trade points for name changes, special titles, maybe custom banner thingies under their avatars]
Donate money for points
Sigs for other forums, that link here, and can count towards points for this forum when people click it
idk i'll think of more

Points for using the Widgets at the bottom of the pages, sending stuff to digg and reddit and whatnot
Points for not using Adblock Plus [If you hide a point button or something as an ad, that should work]

I don't have any sort of automated system, so I was just going to have a referral thread, and an entry thread so I can get a base post count every month. >.>

Yeah, lots of alts floating around would suck.An alt. account rule is definitely a must, though.
I give this the Chrissie stamp of approval.
So official.
Nothing should pass without it.
