What materials do you need in order to print something on one of those?
Mine will print PLA, ABS, Nylon, Acrylic, and a few other things. PLA is the generic "intro" plastic.

There are a few different types. This style basically melts plastic and draws over itself again and again until you get a form.

Basically, yes. You download a 3d file and use a slicer program to convert it to something the printer recognizes. Essentially, when you build something in 3d you also set what size it is. From there, you can scale it in the slicer program if needed.
