What image hosting site doesn't get blocked? I'll post a mirror. 

 

 

What materials do you need in order to print something on one of those?

Mine will print PLA, ABS, Nylon, Acrylic, and a few other things. PLA is the generic "intro" plastic.

Yes. I'm working on a plan, and a better print of them now. Hopefully when I go to work in the morning there will be a shiny new print waiting on me.

I still don't understand how 3D printing works. It's witchcraft from my point of view.

There are a few different types. This style basically melts plastic and draws over itself again and again until you get a form.

Do you just look up an image from the Internet that it prints from? If so, then how does it know what size to print?

Basically, yes. You download a 3d file and use a slicer program to convert it to something the printer recognizes. Essentially, when you build something in 3d you also set what size it is. From there, you can scale it in the slicer program if needed.
