Also, it was a video, not a gif. It had sound. If you're going to be oppressive, at least get your shit straight.

I'm having a hard time understanding why this is even such a big deal.

Because it's a company infringing on someone's private life and trying to impede their free speech, and then made it the front page news on their own website.

Imagine if Coke came out and said "We don't like that you drink Pepsi, so we're going to send your name and address to ISIS militants until you drink coke instead."

To be fair though a meme posted on the internet is hardly a private life considering the internet is public domain.

It depends on the situation. If you post it to twitter or facebook with a normal account, sure. The issue is with doxxing, and with the fact that this shouldn't have even been on CNN's radar.

I meant I don't understand why CNN had a hissy fit over something that didn't seem all that bad in any way.

I've seen six year old kids create/distribute more controversial things than that little video.

I have no idea. It seems completely trivial, and they were so fucking proud of it. It's unfortunate that the kid is a cunt, otherwise I think there would be a lot more backlash than there is on it. It just amazes me that a news company would personally go after someone over a dumb joke.

Right? That's the part that gets me. I get that they're old white dudes who are seriously out of touch, but have you never seen an internet before?

America is what's happening.

I wish it wasn't. :(
