Have you ever been picked on, bothered, or even lost a physical fight with someone just because? Share your stories here. I would share one of mine, but I just... have too many to choose from. I want to make sure I'm not alone in this, and I didn't want to clog up the Depression Thread.

Yeah, being bullied and picked on and fighting defines most of my childhood/schooling. I can sure tell you how much I loved school.

getting my ass kicked by different groups of kids (and a few adults) was a routine occurrence in my upbringing.

it was the adults that did the real damage.

I did at school.

Then I broke a kid's collarbone.

Then I got left alone.

I was bullied in school until I eventually snapped.

Taking a beating from someone using a bat and not going down does wonders for scaring people.

Been in two fights. Won both.

I shamefully admit I was the bully to them. First was 4th grade? Second was 6th grade. Very young and stupid.

First kid actually ended up fighting on school lawn, then it turned into a bike chase which ended by a cop intercepting us. A concerned mature walking her dog phoned it in. Glad she did.

Second kid was just a poor soul. White trash no good drug abusing parents type. He was an asshole and angry at the world. Everyone including me put him down. However, I have a gift for getting under the skin and really pissing people off if they rub me the wrong way. He finally snapped, followed me into class and broke a stool over my head when my back was turned. Didn't phase me, chased him into the halls and tripped him. He crawled away with horror in his eyes.

Never picked on anyone since. Or fought.

I was consistently bullied by one kid when I was in grade three or four.

He liked to punch me in the nuts during the bus ride to and from school.

I was not a large child and he was so there wasn't much I could do about it, even when teachers/parents got involved he kept doing it.

He still lives in the area and remains a meathead tough guy wannabe with a big mouth who works a dead end job to support a coke habit, and I have a wife, a house and run my own business.

Looks like I won the war.

I have never actually been in a physical fight and I'm damn near thirty.

Once I hurled a guy around a living room during a party to teach him a lesson, but no punches were thrown and he didn't have the strength to retaliate.

I find that if you appear to be capable of taking someone apart most douchebags won't roll the dice on a conflict.

Worked well enough so far.

If that ever fails, roll with the crazy guy look. Most people won't want to fight a crazy guy, fuck knows he might van gogh your ass with his teeth.

I find that quiet intensity works amazingly well.

I've been told that I have an air of quiet confidence that makes some people uncomfortable (until they get to know me and see the inner clown child), and I have avoided physical conflict a few times in my life simply by very calmly and coolly explaining to a potential aggressor what will happen if they choose to take the next step.

Talking the talk has so far made it so that I have never really had to walk the walk.

Got bullied primarily from this one guy.

I beat the crap out of him day after snapping. That was basically it.

Basically the going trend is if you beat the shit out of bullies, you'll stop being bullied. I think that's a message we can and should endorse.

You either beat them and they stop, or you beat them then have to learn how to beat multiple people at once. From my experience anyway.

Funny story.

When I was younger a kid I went to school with had this happen exactly.

He punched his bully in the face in a moment of no return and the bully kid left him alone for a few days.

Then he came back with a posse of four other douche kids with intentions to fuck this victim kid up.

Me and a few friends happened to be playing road hockey down the street from where the victim kid lived, so we saw this retard posse marching down the block with puffy chests and shitty smiles. Being a very small town and even smaller school we all knew about the victim kid standing up for himself and making the bully kid look like a chump. We watched and listened from a distance while the posse approached the victim kid (who was playing with his one friend in his driveway) and circled up around them. Some mild pushing and name calling happened before my hockey chums said fuck it and rushed down the street to give this kid some backup. He was a nice kid and the bully kid was renown for being a massive prick. So we got down there with our hockey sticks and formed a circle of our own. Words were exchanged wherein we explained how we would fuck their shit up with hockey sticks if they didn't leave the victim kid alone. The bully kid and his crew of inbreds made the right choice and did just that. Then we went back to playing road hockey. The victim kid and his buddy came along and sort of melded in with our group of friends.

Remembering makes it feel like something out of a Stephen King novel.

It's weird.

Those who suffer injustice are often the most ferocious defenders of others who are suffering.

Fighting is dumb. However, if it comes to that I will gladly throw punches. If that guy wants to open that can of worms I got a lot of pent up aggression. He better knock me down and make sure I stay down. The kid in 6th grade made that mistake. Could have been a lot worse!

I would do the same though. I just have a sarcastic zero fucks given attitude if people are indifferent or picking on me. I'm actually a lot more mature than I sound and would rather avoid conflict. But I will step between two people if necessary.

GOD YESSS!!!!!! '

INHALERS BOUGHT!!!!

Yeah I was bullied a fair bit at school. Nothing too physical. Just teased and tripped over (usual nerd stuff)

Didn't help that I had a growth spurt after high school around 2007.

My students have a hard time believing that I was/are a dorky nerd.

It's weird though, have you guys seen 21 Jump Street?

How Jonah Hill was a freak and Channing Tatum was a jock at high school?

Then they went back to school and the roles we're reversed???

I thought that was just in the film BUT BY GOD!!!! IT REALLY IS TRUE!!!!!!

It buzzes me out by how different today's jock culture is to mine in our days.

The most popular boy is my class would be considered a super geek in my day. Boy has the highest grades, always respectful to the teachers and really excels at  computers. Yet somehow he's the epitome of a jock.

Man I feel that I was born 15 years too soon. I would have the been THE MAN had I gone to school nowadays. No shit!!!
