It doesn't help to tell him how ridiculous that is, either. He just makes smartass comments about how his computer is running and mine isn't. Which is why I elected to sleep before asking, otherwise I would have flipped out.

Anyway I booted up my cousin's old imac, which has a broken screenn, and got what I need. Instead of doing what the tutorial said, I just wiped my ubuntu partition and I'm reinstalling it. Hopefully that'll fix the boot sector issues, and it will *definitely* fix my partition issue. This has been a real rollercoaster. @_@
I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

Ah, well I'm glad you got it. :)

As long as your main partition is up, that's the important part.
