Bernie Sanders reminds me of my crazy old neighbor who thinks the local government has a weather control machine.

That being said, I think he's the best candidate we have atm.

Has anyone considered that during the debates Bernie is just flabbergasted at how stupid people are?

That's part of the problem though, he doesn't meet their arguments head on, he has no presence and he backs down during the debates. You have to remember that in America, action/drama sells.

I honestly think Trumps only in this for a laugh. He's no fool, he did build himself a decent empire. He has to be just saying the craziest shit he can think of to see how much people will eat it up.

I bet he didn't expect to gain and hold as much traction as he has now.

Still can't figure out why Sanders isn't dominating the Democratic party in the election. He would make an excellent president. Also can't see what the GOP is thinking with Trump still in the lead. They must have lost their minds.

He's not dominating the democrats party because he jist doesn't have the personality for it. Put him on a stage against another candidate and he lets them walk all over him every time. If he cant even stand up to Hillary or Trump how thw hell is he going to handle running the most powerful country in the world?

He's a man of education who's not used to public speaking, that doesn't make him a bad presidential candidate, it makes him a shy speaker.

But if you're not charismatic and good at speaking in public, people aren't going to listen to you. What happens if he becomes president and some shit goes on in congress or wherever, and his only input is a bit of meek, quiet disagreement? He's going to be railroaded because he appears to lack a backbone.

From the looks of things, if you're after a puppet president, Bernie's who you want.

A puppet president? The one guy who has stuck his fingers up to big business is a puppet president? Struggling to speak in a debate, or being a quieter character =/= weakness. This is a man with a genuine vision for bringing America in line with the 21st century in terms of society and social welfare. When you consider that there is a vast percentage of people within the USA struggling just to get by, who really wants another Koch Cut-Out President, or a Republican-in-Democrat's clothing for that matter?

You put me in front of a crowd of people and get me going on a subject that I care about and I will almost certainly tear that shit up before anyone even knows why they are arguing with me.

You put my wife in the same situation and she will turn in to a stumbling shy-away who looks like she just got off a bus and speaks English as a third language.

In a one on one situation she suddenly turns in to a human being and knows exactly what she is saying and delivers those thoughts well.

Also, my high school biology teacher has two adult sons who are autistic with severe communication dampeners.

They both have genius level IQs, hobbies that most people get paid to do, and I think one even wrote a book.

But when they are talking to people other than their parents they turn in to small children and look mostly at the floor.

A persons ability and intellect can't be accurately measure by how well they are able to deliver their thoughts to groups of people.

How the hell do you figure? You are saying he is weak, and even that he has been weak in the debates.

What debates were you watching? He is extremely vocal about what he believe in. The only thing I can assume you are talking about is how he doesn't attack other candidates directly, rather he attacks their policies which is how politics is SUPPOSED to work. Decisions should be made based on who has the better ideas and more effective plans for implementing those ideas, not based on who can slander their opponent the best.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I realize Hillary's not THAT bad, but it actually seems as though she is siding with conservatives. She changes her policies on things too often. She once said she was against abortion and against same-sex marriage. Now she says she is the opposite way. Maybe that's why Trump says some of those terrible things that he has mentioned. They are both friends and he wants her to win. Anyway, I think Bernie Sanders sticks to what he says. He will also promote the general welfare and secure liberty if he is elected.

I don't trust Hillary and Trump scares the shit out of me. The fact that Trump actually hold double-digit percentage of popularity terrifies me.

Bernie Sanders is now leading the Iowa poll. I guess that means the election will be Trump vs. Sanders. I think it's safe to say Sanders will win if that happens.

Never underestimate stupid.

Remember Dubya was re-elected and that was after he threw us head first into a war.

I'm not really sold on any of the candidates right now, but at a push, I'd go Bernie Sanders.

BTW interesting video about Trump

Did Clinton beat Sanders in the Iowa caucus? Fox news said it was undecided while CNN said she won by one point.

I heard Clinton won by 0.5% but no one is reporting the results clearly! For some reason everyone is more concerned with a far less interesting Republican Caucus.

She claimed victory over Sanders. That doesn't mean she will win in the primaries in every state. Not even Iowa really. I don't think we will know who won the primaries until the National conventions. This seems to be more of a tight election than I thought it would be. Ted Cruz beat Trump in Iowa. That's kind of scary. If Trump was the nominee, then at least we know a Democrat would win.

Is anyone on this site from New Hampshire?

Just wanted to know if Sanders or Clinton would win there.

All the polls suggest Sanders ought to win New Hampshire. I know in the last debate it was roughly 75-25 in terms of who was the victor there.
