"If Sanders doesn't win, I want to see Trump win so we can get this Civil War out of the way."

Fuck it, why not?

I have been trying to find someone to have a legitimate political discussion with and no one here (at work) will.
Most everyone I speak to treats it as a joke.

But I'm honestly at a loss.

I keep thinking "At least she's a democrat, just vote for her."

But she's not.. and I just fucking can't.

I can't even, in good conscious, consider voting for her.
She can't even keep her corruption out of the goddamn race, how's her term going to be?

And I want my daughter to grow up with the knowledge that if she works hard and does right by herself and those around her that she can be anything she wants.
How can I look her in the eyes and say that if our first female president is someone like Clinton?

At the end of the day what's the viable alternative? She's bad but she's not Trump bad, you know? Idk, hit me up if you want, I think politics is really interesting if not blood-boiling.

I don't really know what to think of Clinton. A lot of the ignorant types of women will vote for her simply on the basis that she is a woman, but that doesn't mean she would be a good president. She claims to be liberal and yet she used to play golf with Trump and her husband. She could just be a racist in disguise. I actually thought Trump was in it just so she could win. Now I realize that he is actually serious. They are both the worst candidates the U.S. has ever had. The best thing to do is not vote or vote third party. Now, Jill Stein knows how to run a country.

You don't have to agree with someone to enjoy their company. Most of the people I know don't have the same political views as me, and as long as we don't discuss it things are perfectly fine.

That being said, there are lots of other reasons Hillary is a cunt.

My two best mates are pretty much as right wing as it gets and I'm on the Marxist-Anarchist side of socialism, you're absolutely right that politics doesn't have to impede upon a relationship/friendship.

I have been trying to find someone to have a legitimate political discussion with and no one here (at work) will.
Most everyone I speak to treats it as a joke.

I gave up on this. To me, it's all mind poisoning. Everybody has the same mentality. They are right, this is the way it should be done, they know everything, and in the end they don't care. The only thing I end up learning is how much of an asshole someone really is. I admit I really don't know much about politics. I've never encountered a person who is passionate about it, down to earth, sane, polite or methodical. I'd like to. Foh sho.

I witnessed, recently, on Facebook my own girlfriends dad attack and say some pretty brutal stuff to people he's known his whole life over political nonsense. This happened on two separate occasions and one day I turned to her and was like, "after having seen how touchy your dad is when it comes to politics and how he treats his friends I will never bring it up around him. Because he's kinda an asshole." She was like, "yeah..." but I guess the point I'm making is, there are very few people you can turn to.

For my generation, or at least to me, I should be able to approach my peers, people in their 40's and be like, "Hey? In your XX years of voting what have you learned? Any insight you can pass onto me? How do I know where I truly stand on a matter? But instead I gave up voting years ago. I forfeited my right to bitch and have a say. This election might call me to action because I feel as if, literally, every vote counts for sure.

All I know is representative democracy is a farce, because it's anything but representative of people's opinion. Even a direct democracy suffers from tyranny of the masses unless you say for instance, that a 67% vote has to change the status quo. I dunno, I'm just waiting for the seasteading to begin in Liberland so I can up sticks and move to Europe's newest country.

This super-delegate system seems so unfair and un-democratic. The race would still be incredibly close if it weren't for those. Though Bernie Sanders makes a good point in saying that it's not over until the race is over, as those S-Ds can only pledge their support once the nomination race has passed all the states/territories.

Then again, at this point the Sanders followers are a little naive if they think he'll win. Don't get me wrong it'd be incredible to see Sanders win, but it's not gonna happen.

Speaking of democratic, I live in a state where our reps decide based on caucuses, not primaries.

So, literally, LITERALLY, my vote doesn't matter.

Just frees up a day for me I guess

Democracy is a joke.

Britain is the only country in the world--other than Iran--that has guaranteed seats in the upper house for clergymen. So even though we live in a predominantly Christian-Islamic-Atheist society, something like 25% of our House of Lords is filled with Bishops etc.

What we need is a benevolent dictator for life. Called Aidan.
