Which country is hers, Sympa? I know the north is grim and full over horror but it's still England. ;) <3

I was under the impression that she was American...? Am I thinking of someone else?

Someone was talking about trump today, specifically the "grab her by the pussy" comment. I get why some people shrug it off, it's nothing but guy locker room talk, girls say stuff too. BUT it really bugged me today because I was brought back to a time where I was physically grabbed at by guy "just playing". I was doing laundry in an apartment laundry room and some guy I went to school with lived there too I guess. I said hi and continued laundry. He was trying to Flirt, but I wasn't interested in him and just smiled and tried to finish so I could go back to my apartment. I told him well I gotta go back to my home. See ya later. He started telling me he was going to take my clothing and i told him not to. This went back and forth for like 10 minutes. He's corner me on the stairs but was always smiling and laughing. I turned around to go up stairs hoping I was calling his bluff. That's when he started grabbing at me. I told him to stop repeatedly. I was a joke. I don't really think people understand that it happens and not rarely. I was assulted but afraid to say anything.. why? He'd get into trouble, I don't want to piss people off, my mom would get worried, friends at school. I went upstairs and called a friend. He made me tell my mom, he also talked to my mom and they decided the police should come just incase is happened again, I could have record. The police came and questioned me about what had happened. They made me walk them to his apartment and confront him. The next day at school I was confront by his girlfriend and their friends. Yelling at me about how I got him into a bunch of trouble and he's already on probation. Back then I was embarrassed and flooded with guilt. Now I see that it was a great desicion and I wish it happened more often to handsy guys. I was scared in that apartment laundry room. But it's a joke, he was only playing around, flirting...

I never understood how guys could get really handy with someone they barely know, if you had been open to flirting or responding to it with flirting I could see, but unwanted...

That's pretty greasy, especially since he had a girlfriend.

I could get my head around a guy being completely oblivious to your lack of interest and urge to leave, but a guy going anywhere neat that far when he's already with someone is shady as fuck. I don't think you did anything wrong by getting some authority involved, and his friends/girlfriend are bent if they didn't see the fuckery in what he did.

Because men are fucking gross, and plenty of guys don't take no for an answer.

I have had a fairly large amount of female friends in my life and I guarantee you that lusty women are just as disgusting as any lusty man.

I've actually seen more women ignore the word no than I have men.

Most men have a low level fear of pushing anything because in way too many cases all a woman has to do is cry harassment and everyone within a hundred feet comes running to defend her.

I agree, I definitely think women get away with it because they make the "choice" and should accept rejection. I think the reason it's scary from the other side is because men are usually more physically strong. Girls can talk a big game but the truth is man are stronger most times. But I am 200% aware of the double standard and I call chicks out as often as I see it (any double standard)

95 times out of 100, a man being harassed by a woman isn't being worried about date rape though. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, absolutely we know it does. Statistical evidence would show that it is by an large a male crime, however.

I have personally been groped at bars by women and when I make it very clear I have a wife they act like I've done something wrong, this has happened numerous times.

A buddy once had his pants pulled down and his junk grabbed by a girl at a college party and when he pushed her off a bunch of bros ended up dragging him outside and threatening to beat his ass. If that shit happened to a woman it would be on the news and the guy would be in prison. Women get away with horrible criminal shit because they are still seen as weak objects who need protecting, not the animals they can be, just like any man.

The stats are pretty skewed because men tend not to report any harassment or even rape, just like my buddy who was dragged out of the party.

He ended up having to shrug it off because most people thought it was hilarious that the girl did it and who wouldn't want a hot chick to grab their cock right?

When a woman reports a sexual crime she is generally helped, when I man does he tends to either get no help or is mocked for it.

Boys are trained from a very young age that we shouldn't even cry when we get hurt because only pussies cry, and that we should be tough guys who can't be hurt in any way.

In recent years more and more men have been coming forward about their being raped/sexually harassed because people are starting to have a more open view of sex crimes and we are getting less shame for it. Watch those stats for the next decade and a guarantee there will be a noticeable shift in the weight of what gender they come from.

I understand where you are coming from, but it just isn't the way it is.

I know what's it's like, I've been groped and had two women physically force themselves upon me on separate ocassions when I was pass-out drunk in the past. Do we consider that rape? If it was a man doing it I guess so. It's not fun and erasing female on male assault is a pretty shitty thing to do. However, we were talking about men assaulting women, so to take my fairly obviously flippant comment and press that, shifting the focus of the conversation away from female assault is--in my opinion--not okay.

Well when one post says men are fucking gross and the next says that sexual assault/rape is a male dominant crime I feel the need to point out that reality is quite the contrary. I didn't take it as a flippant comment.

My bringing up the shitty double standard in response in no way removes weight from the horrible act of male on female assault.

It's just the other side of the bullshit.

Although I do feel like there's quite a bit of the double standard I'm not sure it out weighs the large amount of male on female. But only numbers will show us and until every single assault is accounted for it won't.

Pretty much, which will never really truly happen.

There are a tonne of women who won't come forward as well.

They don't have the exact same reasons for keeping it secret, but a lot still do.

Spoiler

Again, how can the statistics be completely justified when men simply do not report sexual harassment and rape nearly as often as women do.

I am not belittling the horseshit that women have to deal with from sexually aggressive men, but how could the stats tally up the people who don't come forward with the info? Out of curiosity, did you report the two women who forced themselves on you while you were passed out drunk?

But A LOT women also don't report. A lot of women stay quiet, that is a fact. I was raped and I didn't report.
