So today's election day for us Canadians, and it's caused a bit of headlines outside the country for a few reasons, the big one being our current PM is hated by nearly everyone 50 and under.

John Oliver had some things to say about it, if you don't think Canadian politics is interesting just watch the video.

What Oliver doesn't say is Harper, while stating strongly that marijuana is worse than tobacco, has been campaigning with Rob Ford (the famous crack-cocaine addicted Toronto mayor) the past week (though he has been reported to have said behind the scenes that Ford and his brother are 'losers')

Anyway, all I've seen on facebook the past three weeks has been encouragement to vote, even I've gotten in on it. If Harper has done anything, he's encouraged people to vote, I feel we'll see a jump in young voter turnout today. I'll be voting in about an hour when I get off work, but man I'm burnt out on politics now.

Canada, you lot are adorable.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'm so proud of us, haha.

Seriously though, it was great to see Harper get the boot. Also I don't think this helps us with the way the rest of the world sees us, apparently the people over at /r/LadyBoners think Trudeau is a Disney prince. :P

Is this guy wearing a kilt? If so, is a kilt traditional Canadian attire?

If he has a Scottish background for sure. If not, kilts are pretty cool and functional so why not?

But does he have a Scottish background?

I just skimmed, but as far as I can tell his dad is French and his mom is British.

His mom also apparently banged Mick Jagger.

lol
